Chapter 22
The next morning, I awoke with the dawn. It was strange to see the light creep into the room after living in Aeden for the last few months. I had become used to sleeping in the total darkness of the shuttered windows of my room. Now, the early morning light was both comforting and invigorating, a much more natural awakening than finding Amber or Auroreis creeping through my room. I stretched in bed, looking at the clear skies. It seemed like it was going to be a rare sunny day over Lough Ramor.
I hopped up and threw on my running clothes, lacing up my sneakers. This was the perfect morning for a run to the lookout over the lake, where the sun would be rising soon. Miko stirred, sitting up and regarding me intently.
