Episode1
Author POV Eira's eyes locked onto the 80-foot oak tree. The intensity of her stare revealed a straight, sharp flash of red-colored lights from her eyes. Her silent wave made the leaves rustle against each other. Her hands spread out, conjuring a sense of manipulative sequence. This was an explanation of her alienating existence. Her eyes shone brightly, resembling two full-blood moons in the darkness, emanating an unwavering intensity that appeared to penetrate the shroud of night. The bushes suddenly wriggled, and her gaze snapped in that direction, driven by her exceptionally high visual acuity, which granted her razor-sharp clarity and vision in the darkest of environments. She uttered her self-actualization mantra with the solemnity and superstition of an incantation. 'Accersor arduous levo' (an imprecation in Latin), she intoned, and then instantaneously dove into the bush, her mouth still vibrating from the enchantment. "Her instincts still fixated on the unknown creature that had been wriggling in the bushes, a strong urge to hunt took hold of her, and Eira's sharp sense of smell led her to chase after a small stoat (weasel).” She grabbed it just as it was about to escape down the cliff, her claws digging deep into its body. “With a swift and fatal bite to the neck, she killed the stoat, despite its small size.” Eira's eating was not a leisurely meal; she swallowed in quick, eager gulps. "Mmm… (yummy), Mum has never made such a sumptuous meal," she exclaimed, nodding slowly, her tongue licking the blood from her prey that rolled from her finger down to her elbow. "The spark of red light in her eyes disappeared immediately, her taste satisfied.” She giggled softly, seeing the carcass lying between her legs. 'I didn't eat you, so find your killer, buddy,' she said with a twisting tone, her foot kicking the dry bone aside. She stood up, her eyes scanning the surrounding landscape.” The moon was beginning to set, casting an orb glowing over the rolling hills and rocky outcroppings. “She sniffed the air,” her sensitive nose picking up the scent of more prey in the distance. "Eira, Princess, where are you?" She stood frozen, her ears perked up as she detected the voice of her parents, who were several kilometers away. Her listening ability was akin to echolocation, allowing her to quickly pinpoint the sound of Maren and Archie's voices. "Dad! Mom!" Her eyes widened open, noticing their voices fading into the distance. Maren's face was already swollen and puffy, with the strains of tears drafting a marginal line on her face. She cuddled herself up, while Archie scrambled through the bushes and shrubs, desperate to find Eira. "Archie, are... " Tears streamed down her face, choking her words and preventing them from spilling out of her mouth. Hey, come here, Archie said, pulling Maren for a hug, his hand stroking the strain of her hair to the side, gazing directly into her tear-filled eyes. Nothing.. he hesitated, sighing slowly to hold back the tension, nothing will happen to our child, Maren, he continued, holding her head in between his hands for comfort and warmth. Maren's tears slowly subsided as Archie's words and embrace offered her comfort. She nodded, her eyes still red-rimmed, and Archie handed her a handkerchief to wipe her nose. "I know, Archie," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just can't shake the feeling that something's off. Eira's been gone for so long, and we've heard nothing..." Archie's expression turned grim, his jaw clenched in determination. "We'll find her, Maren. I promise. We'll search every inch of this land until she's back in our arms." She nodded, a small smile on her lips. "I know we will. I just hope... I hope we're not too late." As they stood there, holding each other, a rustling in the bushes nearby caught their attention. They turned, their hearts racing, and saw something emerging from the underbrush. Maren quickly wrapped her arms around Archie in a protective gesture. "What's that, Archie?" she whispered, burying her face in his chest. Archie's eyes scanned the area, and he chuckled loudly, pulling her back. "It's just a small mouse, Maren," he said, noticing her trembling fingers and her avoidance of looking in the direction of the underbrush. Maren's expression turned relaxed, and she smiled weakly, still clinging to Archie's chest. "I was so scared," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. Archie's expression softened, and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "I know, love," he said. "But it's just a small mouse. It can't hurt you." She nodded, taking a deep breath. She looked up at Archie, her eyes searching his face. "Where's my daughter, Archie?" she asked her voice firmly but laced with worry. "Mom!" Eira called calmly from a nearby distance. "Eira!" Maren exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement, as she rushed to her daughter. "You smell of blood, Eira!" She turned to Archie with a frown, her se nse of smell indicating something was amiss.
