*MARCUS*
It's been three whole days and she still isn't awake. Here I am standing once again at the door of her room as I watched my staff tend to her wounds. Seeing her in this condition really pissed me off. To a very great measure, I felt like I was responsible for her current state. Firstly, I dragged her into my dangerous life by developing feelings for her. And for some reason, I got distracted the other night that I didn't know when those fools got to tail her to her house. I had initially spotted them at the cafe and wanted to engage them right there but I didn't want to arouse any public attention. And then I was distracted by this tall weirdo who had the guts to hold the hands of my beloved. I saw her run into the car after my second text but I didn't follow her. Rather, I followed the boy into the cafe shop and wanted to have a few words with him but I was interrupted by Nate before I could even get close to him. He had called me and informed me that the dudes that we suspected were following my beloved were on the move. I rushed outside and ran into my car instructing Nate to drive as fast as he could. I instructed that we split into two groups as we had lost sight of both Lucy, her friend and those dudes who had a death wish. I and Nate went towards the direction of her friends house as it was quite closer to the cafe shop. While my other boys went straight for her house.
On getting to her friend's house, neither she nor her friend were seen around. Her friend's car was not in sight either. We turned around and headed for Lucy's house at high speed. We zoomed past her friend's car on the way but Lucy was not in the car. This proved that she must have dropped Lucy off at home. As I got close to her house, I saw my boys heading towards my direction. Nate brought the car to a stop while I inquired whether they had seen her.
“No, we didn't see her. We knocked and even looked round her house but it seemed like no one is home” one of my boys in the other car replied after I had inquired about the progress of their mission. I knew something was most definitely up from this reply. If she wasn't in her friend's car when we just saw her but she was in it back at the cafe and she still isn't home, then something was wrong. I ordered my boys to comb the area in search of her. “I wish I had listened to you bro and I didn't drag her into this life of ours” I said to Nate. “This is not the time to play the blame game, we need to find her first” Nate replied as he moved at high speed.
I could hear some dogs barking around the corner but I could not visualize where they were backing from. Judging from the nonstop sound of the dogs barking and how fierce it was, I suggested that we move towards where the sound was coming from. When we finally saw the dogs, they had already stopped barking and started again after seeing us. This only proved that someone was here a while ago. Nate seemed to be thinking at the same level as I was and it seemed like he initiated every move that I thought of without me even asking him to. He zoomed off with speed towards the direction we were headed.
And behold, the car that had followed Lucy at the cafe was just a distance away from us. I sent a text to one of my boys in the other car informing him of our current location and also informed him that we had seen the car. I instructed Nate to ram them from behind and bring them to a stop so we can search them. Then he pointed out that Lucy may have been hidden in the trunk of the car. So we decided it was better to ram them from the side. While we were still deliberating, the other car hosting my three other gang members came out from a street and had a T-bone collision with the car. Two guys alighted the car both holding a gun in each on theirs hands. We began a fierce gun battle that led to two of the men fleeing and the other two getting killed in the process. My boys chased the other two men but they could not catch them. And so we couldn't find out who it was that wanted to hurt my Lucy. Well, the other two got their own fair share of what they ordered for. I and my boys handed them their death certificate right in their face.
I could not stand watching them tend her wound so I had to exit the room.
“How is she?” Nate asked me standing right outside the room.
“I don't know, but she still isn't conscious” I replied.
“The doctor said she would be fine. So there is no need to worry” he said.
“I just hope so. I wish I could find out who it was that did this to her” I said attempting to squeeze the bars of the hand rail close to me.
“Well, I am certain that Nicole had something to do with it” Nate replied.
“Nicole isn't our only enemy in this game. They are a ton of other people who both secretly and publicly stand against us. And I wish I could kill them all” I said in anger still compressing the railing.
“Well aside that, we've got quite a problem on our hands” Nate said.
“What could be bigger than this?” I asked him.
“Well I didn't call it bigger though, but it sure had a large effect on our work” he replied
“What is it?”
“Our shipment got intercepted” he replied.
“Which of them?” I asked.
“The big one from LT” he replied.
“Well how's that our problem, LT should sort it out. The goods hadn't gotten to me before the hazard happened “ I replied.
“Unfortunately, our boys had already claimed it when the truck was hijacked” he replied.
“What -the f**k!” I screamed. I clenched my fist in an attempt to suppress my anger. “How much is the damage?” I asked.
“It's fifty k” he replied.
“Who intercepted it?”
“That we are yet to know” he replied.
I smelled foul play in this whole issue. But I believed we would get it sorted. I couldn't just let fifty thousands dollars go down the drain could I?
We initially had the plan of going out to see how our operations were going in the streets.
Yeah, I deal on drugs and that was fifty thousand dollars worth of coke that had just been intercepted by people that we are still yet to know.
Nate and I went downstairs to head into town and commence our operations for the day.
