“Well what do we have here? A seer?” Jovak said, suddenly appearing before them. He looked keenly at Kiro.

“What?” Jovak took a cautious step back. “I’m currently on level 20 and my level is too low? Who the hell is this guy?” he thought to himself.

“Could you please let us pass? We rather not get into a fight here,” Kiro said.

“What level are you on?”

“Level three.”

Jovak was shocked. He was seventeen levels higher and yet…

“You’re an interesting bunch. I really like to see how you develop. But you Ascient, you are mine,” Jovak said with a menacing expression.

“Jovak Leonard, Riser level 20, ability; steal. Sponsor; the necromancer. Am I right?” Kiro teased.

Jovak took an offensive pose. “So, you also have character profiling I see.”

“Something a bit more than that.”

“His power is to steal?” Karenia asked.

“His ability allows him to add both the level and ability of someone he kills. As long as they are on the same level or lower. This psychopath killed everyone in his cabin. All nineteen of them.”

“So, you really are a seer. Delicious,” Jovak said, sticking out his tongue.

All risers in the vicinity are to assemble at the town’s church for their next test.

“Saved by the bell I see. We’ll meet again, Seer, Ascient,” he said, but stared long at Karenia, trying to discern her abilities. “And you too enhancer.”

“Jovak! What’s your worst nightmare?” Kiro asked.

“What’s all this all of a sudden?” Jovak retorted.

“What’s it? Your worst nightmare.”

Jovak frowned at him. For the first time during their conversation, he wasn’t smiling. “If you think you can threaten me, think again. You’ll just make yourself a target.”

“If you’re the one aiming, then I think I’m safe,” Kiro goaded.

“Cocky much? Let’s see how long that lasts,” Jovak said as he left them.

“We need to kill him in this next test, or he’ll prove too difficult to handle later,” Kiro said after he had left.
