Helga!
My setting takes place in Nuremberg Germany, in 1938. My protagonist is Helga, and my antagonist is the failed stock market. Some conflicts that Helga faces internally is that she wants her kids back, but can not get them unless she gets money to afford there funds. An external conflicts she faces is s****m( when the jobs decline her due to the fact that she's a woman) and society( jobs deny her from the start and she has to fight the economy as well as the government to gain her kids again).Climax is when Helga makes her own job and gains her kids.P.O.V. is in first person on Helga’s behalf.Resolution is when Helga gains her kids back and is noticed for her women's activist moments. The theme is that know matter who you are it is possible to be independent and also just to never give up. You can do something so amazing if you keep trying.
Hello my name is Helga, and I have two kids named JŶrgen and Winfried. We live in Nuremberg Germany. Everything was good until October of 1929. One day (Black Thursday) there was a huge crash in the market (stock market), when 16 million establishments were sold do to the lack of funding. The owner of my work, had sold the business putting me out of a job, food and child funds. Today is October 29th, 1938. No one has had a job since the market crashed. Without a job I can't afford food or any kind of child funds. Ma’am. Do to all the lack of money throughout Germany, all of the kids have to go with us. “No!”, exclaimed Helga, “ You will not take my kids!” Mama we don't want to go, the kids said sadly. “It’s the best for them.”, stated the officer trying to take them. I know, I know but I do not want to. If you must, then do so. Kids… Yes Mama? I want you to know that I will come and get you, as soon as I can okay? I love you! We love you too Mama bye!(said with full blown tears in their eyes) “Don't say that, I will see you soon!”, no tears were held back from Helga’s or the kids eyes. I need a job! I have to get my kids back! So many thoughts are rushing around my head. What if I never... NO! I will see my babies again. I know, I will head to the city and look for a job. Ooh, there is a job right here… but it's the only one. I'll just go in and ask for the job. Hello I am Helga may I have a job here? “Hahaha! You're a girl, you can't work!”, says the interviewer. Just because I am a woman, doesn't mean that I can not work! I will just take my work ethic else were! I had left that place and looked around. There is not a single job here, or in the next town over. Oh no! What can I do now? I really want my babies back, right here in my arms. Tears rolling uncontrollably down my cheeks. I can't give up! I need to figure something out! While I think, I should head home and do my chores…. Well I did the dishes, cleaned the house and made food. Now all that's left to do is clean and polish the shoes… Wait a minute, I have an idea! Society won't give me a job, so I will make my own. I can clean and polish shoes, but for how much money? How about fifteen cents? Yes! I have to make advertisements to spread the word! Where would I work though? How about in front of the job that denied me? I go into the city and buy some supplies. I set up my work area, and hung up the advertisements. Next thing I knew, there was one, two, three people asking me to clean there shoes. Little by little the group got larger, as so did the amount of money I had. Eventually, there was no line, only an overbearing crowd waiting for my service. The people waiting their turn all crowded each other, and continuously read my advertisements. As I looked into the group, I see one that I didn't think I would see until everything blew over. It was the officer and my babies! I was so happy to see them, that I cried tears of joy. As I cleaned the officers shoes, he started talking. “I see that you are doing good, and you can find fund for the kids… I say that they are able to stay with you…” Yay! Thank you so much! , but I need to let the crew know first.” Thank you so much! Kids! Give me a hug! My kids and I hugged for a few minutes. Let me finish your shoes officer. Okay, all done. Kids, you can play in front of the shops behind me, as I finish up this crowd. Next! Next was a man in all brown. He was an interviewer. He did not only want his shoes cleaned, but he wanted to have me noticed as a women's activist. I finished up the crowd, but the interviewer still was here. Me, JŶrgen and Winifried headed towards home. “Wait! How did you do it?” It was the interviewer again. I had told him, “I have had a long day, may I please go home?” “Please!” He exclaimed. I had spilled my whole day to him, all the way to the last detail. When I was finished he was very satisfied and had left. The next day, everyone was talking about yesterday! People saw me as a women's activist! As they did that day and forward.
