Chapter 24: A Heartfelt Reunion

The next morning, Evelyn woke up feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the rest of the getaway. She joined her colleagues for breakfast, where the conversation was lively and filled with laughter. The resort’s dining area offered a stunning view of the surrounding landscape, adding to the serene atmosphere.

After breakfast, the group decided to explore the resort’s amenities. Some opted for a hike along the scenic trails, while others chose to relax by the pool. Evelyn and Brenda decided to join the hiking group, eager to take in the natural beauty of the area.

As they walked along the trail, Brenda struck up a conversation. “So, Evelyn, how are things with Min-jun? You two seem really happy together.”

Evelyn smiled, feeling a warm glow at the mention of Min-jun. “We are. It’s been challenging with the distance, but we make it work. He’s been really supportive.”

“That’s great to hear. It’s important to have someone who supports you,” Brenda said thoughtfully. “By the way, have you heard from Nomsa recently?”

“Yes, we talk almost every day. She’s been a great friend, especially with everything that’s been going on,” Evelyn replied.

As they continued their hike, the conversation shifted to work and their plans for the upcoming school term. They shared ideas and discussed ways to make their classes more engaging for their students.

After the hike, the group returned to the resort and decided to spend some time at the spa. Evelyn and Brenda opted for a relaxing massage, enjoying the chance to unwind and recharge.

Later that afternoon, they gathered by the pool, where the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. Evelyn found herself feeling more connected to her colleagues, appreciating the opportunity to bond with them outside of the usual work environment.

As the evening drew to a close, Evelyn received a text from Min-jun.

Min-jun: Hey, how’s the trip going?

Evelyn: It’s been great! We’re having a barbecue by the pool right now. I miss you.

Min-jun: I miss you too. Can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Evelyn smiled at his response, feeling a sense of warmth and connection despite the distance. She knew that their relationship was strong and that they would continue to support each other through whatever challenges came their way.

As she lay in bed that night, Evelyn reflected on the day’s events. In the hallway, she bumped into Brenda and Mark, who were also just arriving.

“Morning, Evelyn! How was the rest of your weekend?” Mark asked with a smile.

“It was great, thanks! I feel so refreshed,” Evelyn replied.

“Same here,” Brenda added. “That trip was exactly what we needed.”

They continued their conversation as they made their way to the staffroom. Over a cup of coffee, they shared their thoughts on the trip and discussed their plans for the upcoming school term.

“I’m really excited about some new activities I have planned for my classes,” Evelyn said. “I think the students will love them.”

“That’s great to hear,” Brenda replied. “I’m planning to incorporate more interactive lessons as well. It’s always good to keep things fresh.”

As they chatted, other staff members joined in, sharing their own experiences and ideas. The atmosphere was positive and collaborative, a testament to the strong sense of community among the teachers.

Days passed, and Evelyn settled back into her routine. She stayed in touch with Min-jun and Nomsa daily, their support providing a comforting presence in her life. Min-jun: Hey, can you come over this weekend? I miss you.

Evelyn: Of course! I’ll pack my bags and head over after school.

Excited, Evelyn packed her bags and made her way to Seoul after school hours. When she arrived at Min-jun’s place, she was greeted by Mr Choi.

“Good evening, Miss Evelyn. Welcome back,” Mr Choi said with a warm smile.

“Thank you! It’s good to be back,” Evelyn replied, returning the smile before heading to the bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, Evelyn texted her friend Byoel to let her know she was back in Seoul.

Evelyn: Hey, I’m back in Seoul!

Byoel: That’s great! Can we meet up tomorrow?

Evelyn: Sure, if Min-jun goes to work, I’ll be free.

As she finished texting, she heard the front door open. Min-jun had arrived home. He entered the bedroom, taking off his clothes to have a bath. Just as he was about to open the bathroom door, Evelyn opened it from the inside.

“Surprise!” Evelyn said with a grin.

Min-jun’s eyes widened in surprise. “Evelyn! You came early!” He kissed her on the forehead.

Evelyn laughed. “Didn’t you see my clothes on the bed?”

Min-jun shook his head, smiling sheepishly. “I wasn’t paying attention to the bed.”

Evelyn got into bed while Min-jun took his bath. When he finished, he found Evelyn already asleep. He climbed into bed and pulled her close.

“Are you hungry?” he whispered.

Evelyn mumbled, “No, I’m not hungry.”

Min-jun quietly headed downstairs to grab something to eat. After eating, he returned to bed. Evelyn and Min-jun are in bed, cuddling. As they embrace, Min-jun becomes aroused and begins to initiate intimacy. However, Evelyn gently pushes him away, expressing that she's not in the mood. She explains that she's feeling tired and just wants to relax. Min-jun chuckled softly. “I know, just rest.”

Later in the night, Evelyn woke up and put on a gown to go to the kitchen for some water. When she returned, she took off the gown and got back into bed. Min-jun, murmured, “How am I supposed to function when you’re walking around like that?”

Evelyn laughed softly and kissed him on the cheek. “Just sleep, Min-jun.” Evelyn turned to Min-jun, who was still awake.

“Min-jun, can you dismiss all the workers when I’m around? I just want some privacy,” Evelyn asked softly.

Min-jun nodded, still groggy. “Of course, I’ll take care of it.”

He sent a text to Mr Choi, giving them the weekend off. Then, he went to the bathroom to take a cold shower before getting back into bed.
