Prologue

Flashback “Hi, I’m Grace.” I said as I put my hand out to shake the little girl’s hand who was sitting by herself at school. She looked up at me but didn’t say anything at first. She just looked between my hand and my face. I made sure to keep a smile on my face to show I wanted to be her friend.    On her first day here I had to go home early due to seeing her and another man dying while what looked to be a vision of its own but it was different. It seemed like it was sucking the life out of them. I told my parents about it and they told me to follow my feelings and that my vision was for me to fix it if I wanted to. They also told me that she was special and that she will need me growing up. “Hi, I’m Inara.” She finally answered back with a small smile on her face. As soon as my hand touched hers I had another vision. This one was different, it wasn’t a set place and time, it was all over. I watched as our lives flashed before me, all the good and the bad. I was so scared at the end of it yet happy that I found what I, as a witch, am supposed to do with my life. I was to take care of her by being there for her and once she truly needed me to save her life I would. End of Flashback   That was the last vision I had of her until she was attacked at the mall. I felt a cold wind come over me and knew something was wrong. I rushed to where I found her looking like she was about to die. She was sheet white and in so much pain. That was also where I met the man who died with her from the very first vision I ever had of Inara.    After that flashes of events started to come flooding back to me, flashes I had when I was young and first met her.    I knew when I needed to be in Luke’s room to save them because of the vision and on that day I was shown how to save them. What I wasn’t shown was that Sarah, Inara’s little sister, would be there to help me.    Everything got worse from there and I was torn between my best friend or her brother and after one of the largest fights in many years happened with all kinds of supernaturals I was drained and needed to figure out my life without either of them. So I packed up and left. I left to recharge my magic and to figure out who I was without having to keep my best friend safe. I left to escape him, too.
