PROLOGUE
I was astray.
I have lost all the idea of what path I am taking. My mind was blocked from all rational thoughts—thoughts that I could use to know where I should be going.
I don’t even know if I could still reach a nameless destination with blood covering the soles of my feet, with the strained muscles of my legs, with bruises on my arms, and with the pieces of my heart falling to the ground by each painful step that I take.
All I know, is that wherever I would arrive… I wish that my feet get me to a place that is far away from them.
Mindlessly, I crossed a street while the rain is pouring hard from above me, which helped in concealing the downpour of tears from my eyes. I was in the middle of God knows where when I noticed a faint light rapidly breaking the darkness enveloping my surroundings.
The light was quick and has become larger and larger every second, approaching my post.
As the blinding light was almost removing my ability to see, I wished to God or Anyone who could hear, that He would let me experience living in a place away from all the hurt, hate and grief—a paradise where I could escape from sadness, and a smile would always be plastered on my face.
I felt my knees quiver, and I could not muster anymore strength to keep myself from falling towards the cold, wet ground. All I could do is close my eyes and wait for the blinding light to consume me.
I waited...
And waited...
And waited...
Until I felt a strong pair of arms pulling my frail body from the ground, carrying me—transporting me to some place.
Maybe a paradise.
There were only two things that I could remember before my senses were clouded with darkness.
First—a pair of oceanic eyes staring from above me, and lastly—a deep-toned voice filled with worry as he called for my attention.
“Miss! Miss, wake up! Wake up for f**k's sake, Miss!”
