Half a Brain
I have a theory.
My identical twin sister Rebecca and I share our room, clothes, our friends and I believe we share our brain. But we don't share it equally. When we were growing inside of our mothers belly I believe Rebecca stole half my brain and added it to hers. With her larger brain, Miss Einstein planned to win Mom and Dads love and admiration and be the toast of our school. Her plan is working. Because I have half the brain I should I'm almost invisible its hard getting noticed when she's so bright and I'm so dull. But maybe its for the best because horrible things happen when I come into view.
Its a Monday in late September. I am in Mrs. bunkers room, my fifth grade classroom. My sister is in a different classroom on the other side of the school. Today we are learning about climate change. Mrs. buskers asks if people wear more of less in desert climates. I think care fully we live in Miami Florida. Miami has a hot, humid climate and our classroom is sizzling in the hot weather. I prefer to wear as few clothes as possible such are shorts, sleeveless shirts and flip flops when possible. We aren't allowed to wear such clothes at school so I'm wearing a cotton shift pink and white polka dots and a black Mary janes with short socks. I raise my hand Mrs. buskers mops her chin as she points to my direction I say " They're almost n***d because its so hot.
