CHAPTER 3: NO WAY!!!, NOT MY BOSS!

Lily sat at Sebastian's polished wooden table, her fingers tapping on the keyboard as she worked diligently on the reports spread out before her, apparently she couldn't wait to get back to the serenity of her loft apartment, although it was small, and Tony from opposite wouldn't stop playing his yoga tune for the entire building, but at least it was less tension unlike this penthouse, her apartment was her biggest purchase since she moved to new York after graduation.

The soft hum of the air conditioner competed with the rhythmic sound of the keys, creating a symphony of office ambiance.

Suddenly, the door to the bathroom creaked open, and Lily's gaze instinctively lifted. Sebastian, her arrogantly charming boss, emerged with a towel wrapped around his waist, droplets of water glistening on his chiseled chest. Lily couldn't help but steal a glance, secretly marveling at the allure of his physique, she still couldn't help but wonder how being in her boss's room on a Saturday was professional, regardless of the fact that he had not made any s****l advances towards her. She knew she wasn't his type, he always went for the girls with full boobs and curvy hips, that always seemed dumb or liked to party.

As Sebastian approached her, a subtle aroma of masculine cologne enveloped the room. She couldn't deny the magnetic charm that emanated from him, even though their professional relationship had been anything but smooth, just hate on both ends.

Sebastian, seemingly oblivious to Lily's discreet observations, ruffled his damp brown hair and reached for his sweater and casual shorts.

"I hope you've taken care of everything, Lily. I don't want any mistakes," he stated, his voice a mixture of authority and casual arrogance.

Lily nodded, her eyes flickering between her work and her enigmatic boss. "Yes, I've ordered the food just as you requested. It should arrive soon."

Sebastian's expression, usually really straight, emotionless and confident, faltered for a moment. His piercing blue eyes clouded with a hint of worry. Lily sensed an unspoken tension, a vulnerability she hadn't seen before. "Is something bothering you, Mr. Knight?" she inquired cautiously.

Sebastian hesitated before speaking, his tone revealing a vulnerability he rarely exposed.

"It's my grandmother. She's not very well, I got a call from her the night before. And to top that she wants me to bring my girlfriend to the family vacation – the annual one we have at the Island."

Lily arched an eyebrow, genuinely surprised, because Sebastian rarely opens up his thoughts to anyone, so this came as a shock to her. Secondly in the years she had worked at the branch he had never gone for these vacations, although she had heard of them. Also, "You have a girlfriend?"

Sebastian sighed, glancing away. "You'd really believe if I told you I had one?", He said looking straight at me without a hint of emotion in his face, which left me speechless.

"I might have... exaggerated the truth a bit. But that's not the point. She's adamant about this, and I need to keep up appearances, so I don't hurt her in the process, she just needs to see the girl that's all."

Would I say I was surprised, well not exactly, this was typical of Sebastian, I just wondered which of the girls he'd be carrying along, probably Sonia, or Hannah, or Joan? "So who should I arrange to inform about this” she asks as she starts scrolling through these girls contacts on her phone.

So, here's the deal, Lily. As my PA you're to be my girlfriend for the duration of the vacation, the vacation should last 2 weeks and I need you to prepare"

Lily's eyes widened in disbelief, I genuinely couldn't believe what I just heard, me? To my Boss?, No way!, Not my Boss!, Not Sebastian Knight of all people, not another round of torture, she already planned her vacation to stay indoors and read all the editions of the game of thrones books her friend gifted her, besides he only gave her a two weeks break, was this another way of torturing her?, She tried to compose herself but her facial expressions couldn't hide the level of annoyance that boiled inside of her.

"What? That's not part of my job description, Mr. Knight. And besides, why would I agree to something like that?"

Sebastian leaned against the table, a smirk playing on his lips as water slowly dripped from his hair to her sweats. "Well, Lily, consider it a chance to showcase your acting skills. Plus, it's just for a few days. Think of it as a little favor, and I'll make it worth your while, besides I hired you for certain reasons Lily"

Lily crossed her arms, clearly unimpressed. "I don't even like you, Mr. Knight."

Sebastian chuckled, his charisma working its magic even in this peculiar situation. "Who said anything about liking?, I'm not asking you to. It's a business arrangement, Lily. Besides, think about my grandmother, You wouldn't want to disappoint her, would you?"

"I want a raise at least "

"You've got it Lily ", he said smirking

A flicker of emotion crossed Lily's face as she thought of her mother, his grandmother whom she had only seen once, reminded her of her mother. After a moment of contemplation, she sighed. "Fine, but it better not involve any inappropriate antics, Mr. Knight"

Sebastian grinned, the arrogant glint returning to his eyes. "I can't say whether or not you won't be drawn to my charms, but I'll urge you not to fall hard". "You're now officially my contract girlfriend. This is going to be an interesting vacation, don't you think?", He said as he suddenly picked my hands and pecked the back of my palm while staring into my eyes, then walked away to get out the order downstairs.

What just happened?, What did I just agree to.
