CHAPTER 1: PILOT
"I think at this point it was safe to say that I have the shittiest boss in the entire New York City because tell me why I work every day of the week, 9 to 9, and he's still demanding I come over during the weekends", Lily screamed out loud, as she changes out of her Hello Kitty PJ's, and into a sweatpant and hoodie.
"I signed up to be his PA, not his life coach, or his knight in shining armor when he's wasted at the side of the bar", she screamed to Jada and Alyssia over their usual Saturday morning Facetime.
Lily Greenwood has been working at the Knight's Trading Empire New York branch for 2 years now and had just recently been promoted from being a ground staff to being her boss's PA, after the last girl quit, throwing her office chair through the glass walls of the office building in a fitting rage. Initially, she enjoyed the job especially with the pay that came with it, till she started experiencing the arrogant and demanding nature of her boss.
"Does that mean you're not joining me to spy on Jada's Tinder date this afternoon?", Alyssia asked. "I don't know babe, I hate this job!!!, I wish I could quit at this point, but I can't, not right now at least", she says as she races out of her apartment. "You'd just have to go alone this time, I'm so sorry guys". She says ending the call. And yet again, another weekend with her friends was ruined, all because of spoilt and arrogant Sebastian Knight. This wasn't the first time it was happening, Sebastian Knight, the charming heir of the Knight trading empire was a sexy young man in his 30s, every ladies man, he loved partying and drinking a lot, and when he wasn't doing any of that, he was bossing his PA around.
Lily arrived at his penthouse, drenched in sweat from jogging to his apartment. When she finally got to his floor, the elevator opened to reveal his stunning penthouse, a woman was leaving the apartment in a very short shiny club dress, and rough blonde hair as she walked in.
She rolled her eyes in annoyance as she thought of the usual.
Every friday night, Sebastian would go clubbing and drinking and then end up with a lady or two in his apartment.
Lily never worried about his personal life or how he treated himself, because he was always somehow a different person when it came to running the company. He took work pretty seriously, he just had a party lifestyle that made it hard to believe he could actually be very serious minded.
"Did you get me my regular" he called from his room. "Yes" she said rolling her eyes again. "Bring it up!".
She walks up to his room, while he's actually seated up against his bed working on his laptop. His glasses rested sexily on his face as he had this serious look on his face, his piercing blue eyes fixated on the screen, as his shiny brown hair scattered in different directions. He sat there shirtless with eyes that didn't look tired at all neither did he look like he was hungover, one could tell he was probably up all night, but definitely not hungover like blonde from the elevator.
"Pass it!", he says, with that really deep voice and commanding tone.
I gave him his coffee as he sipped it without even taking a glance up, this meant that something serious was going on with that laptop, and serious as in work serious.
The Knight trading empire in New York was the biggest branch of all the branches of the empire, which was run solely by Seb. The head office was still owned by his father Gary, who was always on Sebastian’s ass about his extravagant lifestyle, while the second biggest branch was run by his stepbrother Adrian.
As Lily saw he was heavily fixated on his laptop, she saw it as an opportunity to finally get back to resuming her normal Saturday routine.
"Where do you think you're going?", He says as she turned to leave.
"Home?... because it's a Saturday?", She replies
"I don't pay you to be at home Lily", he says as he pronounces her name with a commanding tone, finally looking up and over his laptop.
"Well I just wasn't expecting to be working on a Saturday"
"Well I wasn't either, but guess we can't stop the investors who want to do business on a Saturday now can we?, Have a seat," he says, dismissingly.
And just like that work had resumed on a Saturday.
She sat down thinking about how much she had missed out on social activities at her age because of this job, when she got a text from Alyssia sending her a picture of Jada's date outfit. She wanted to hang out with her girls. She thought of how she had barely gone on any dates ever since she logged onto the Tinder app, and just last week when she had finally gotten a date with a nerdy-looking guy, Seb had to ring her in to work again!! She had to cancel and that was the last time she heard from the guy. She gave him an annoyed look and went back to working on his second laptop that lay on the table
Meanwhile Sebastian was in complete distress, but always had a way to look cool even in the worst situations, and this particular one warranted him being completely calm.
It was a long night the night before, but was cut short after he got a call from his grandma checking in on him as she usually does, except this time, she sounded really stern. The pretty sexy blonde had just stepped into the shower leaving her red see through lingerie on the floor leading to the bathroom, which was a signal for him to follow in, when the call came in. That wasn't a call he could ignore, because after his mom passed and his father married again, his grandmother was more like a second mother to him
"Hi Gran gran", he said boyishly, the voice on the other end sounded weak and tired.
She complained about how she hadn't heard from him in a while and how he hadn't been checking up on her.
He tried to apologize explaining about how busy he had been running the empire.
"Speaking about that, hope you're coming for the annual get together at the island" she said
"I've not forgotten about that granny, I'll be there, I know you miss me"
"It's not just that Bashy, you know, I think I overheard your father saying something about stepping down and handing over, Oh baby!, I hope you know what you're doing over there in New York , you know how your father is like, this might be it, except you want your step brother taking over",
It was at that moment reality sank in for Seb, he was speechless. This wasn't the first time he was being told about his father passing down the role of CEO, to one of his sons, but the fact that the timing may have been closer than he thought, set him in panic mode. He couldn't help but think about how his father might see him especially since they're usually not in agreement with his extravagant lifestyle.
"Are you still there baby?"
"Yes grandma, I am, I was just thinking "
"Well there's really nothing to think about, I mean you could show him you're responsible, especially because you've been running the company well, your stocks and accounts are up to date, and you still have that your girlfriend, what's her name again?... Bethany?, Beth isn't it"
"Yess grand-ma", he said hesitating.
He just remembered the lie he once told his grandma about an imaginary girlfriend he had just to get her off his case. Anything to stop her from setting him up with random girls from her church.
"She's fine grandma", at that moment, blonde girl walks into the room, her full boobs bouncing over her chest as she walked in half naked, with only a short towel strapped to her waist.
"Hey sexy, aren't you coming?” She said.
"Oh is that Beth?", "Um no Grandma, I'll call you tomorrow ok...byee", he said as he cut the call.
He suddenly lost interest in every activity for the night and picked up his laptop, his blonde mistress ended up drinking herself to stupor as she wasn't of any interest to him that night, he had to come up with a plan for the annual family vacation if not there's a possibility he wasn't going to inherit the company, his brother Adrian was big competition.
"What's your idea of a responsible man Lily?", He said, finally taking a look at her.
