"It is with great pleasure I introduce to you all, King Damien Tristan, the King of the Lycan Kingdom." Alpha Elijah announced and gasps rippled through the hall while Elenor stiffened, her eyes widened in shock.
She turned to Damien who had a smirk on his face, clearly enjoying the shock on Elenor's face.
"Please, come with me, your Grace." Alpha Elijah said and stole him from Elenor who still looked like she had just seen a ghost.
"The Lycan King? How is that possible?" She muttered as she watched him leave with Alpha Elijah.
Everyone in the hall had their head bowed as a show of respect to the Lycan king while Lesley and his mate, Ava looked more shocked than Elenor.
"He is a king? How is that even possible? And how the f**k does he know Elenor?" Ava thought as she watched him walk with Alpha Elijah.
Lesley seemed to have the same thought as he watched the Lycan King walk away.
"Did she know about him? Is that why she approached him?" Ava asked Lesley but, her questions fell on deaf ears as his attention was fixed on Elenor.
"Les? Lesley?" Ava called out, grabbing his arms but he immediately yanked it off and marched to where Elenor stood.
"What is the meaning of this?" He asked his expression a mixture of anger and jealousy. "What are you doing with the Lycan King? Do you not know that he is a dangerous man?" He asked, grabbing her arm.
Elenor who had only just recovered from the shock she had just received turned to him with irritation written all over her face.
"Excuse me?" She asked, yanking her arm free from his grip. "And what on earth makes you think you have a say in my life? Who the f**k do you think you are to me?" She retorted, her eyes blazing with anger.
"Don't give me that look, Elenor. You know what you are to me. You know what we are so yes, I have a say in your life!" Lesley answered, keeping his voice low to avoid drawing attention to them.
"Stay away from him! Do you hear me?" He ordered but a scoff left Elenor's lips to his surprise. He had never seen her as the type to sharp-mouthed but ever since he brought Anna in, he had been seeing different sides of Elenor that he never knew existed.
"Listen, Lesley. You lost every right to have a say in my life when you chose that bimbo over there." She said, pointing at Ava who was throwing daggers at her with her eyes as she watched her mate chase after another like a jealous dog.
"I didn't choose her over you! The moon goddess did! But, that doesn't mean I have given up on you, Elenor. You still belong to me!" He said, leaning closer, and Elenor's face broke into a smile until she started laughing loudly…so loud that everyone close to them turned around to see what was so funny.
"I never knew you were polygamous, Lesley." She faked a gasp. "You cannot choose between us so you want to have us both. Are you f*****g stupid?"
"Watch your tone, Elenor! I am now you're alpha. The coronation ceremony has been completed so, I am now the Alpha of this pack and I will not tolerate any disrespect from anyone, girlfriend or not." He said in a sharp tone to scare her and get her to obey him.
"Girlfriend? For heaven's sake Les…Alpha, you have a mate. She is your girlfriend while I am nothing but a pack member to you. The sooner you accept this fact, the better for you." Elenor clarified and turned to leave but was once again stopped by his arm grabbing her.
"Do not walk out on me?" He growled in her face, grabbing the attention of everyone in the hall but as Elenor opened her mouth to retort, a familiar voice interrupted.
"What's going on?" King Damien asked, his voice low but demanding.
Lesley turned, ready to lash out at him but he saw his father standing beside Damien with a warning look on his face.
"It's nothing, your Grace." He cleared his throat. "I was just having a word with her. You see, she is my girlfriend." He whispered the latter part just to the hearing of King Damien and Elenor.
"Oh…" King Damien scoffed and shifted his gaze to Elenor.
"I find that hard to believe though." He said and returned his gaze to Lesley who had a pretentious smile on his face.
"Your grace?" Lesley asked, hoping for some clarification.
"You see, this beautiful lady over here who I still have no idea what her name is, is my mate." He announced, directing a smirk at Elenor who narrowed at eyes at him before reminding herself that he was Lycan King.
A collective gasp rippled through the hall as King Damien made the announcement. Most of the members of Lesley's pack who knew of her history with Lesley and how she was tossed to the side after the arrival of Ava were shocked at how things had turned around for Elenor. It was a huge slap on Lesley's face as Damien was in a much higher rank than him.
"Your mate?" Damien gasped, feeling a discomfort in his throat. "That's not possible, your Grace. I think you are mistaken." He laughed nervously and turned to Elenor.
"Tell him." He beckoned but Elenor stared at him as though he had suddenly grown two heads.
"And why isn't it possible? You have a fated mate so, why can't I?" She said with a smirk.
"He is right." She said, turning to the crowd with her shoulders held high. At that moment, it didn't matter to her if Damien was an asshole or if he didn't want her as his mate. All that mattered to her was that things were going in her favor because of him.
The timing couldn't have been any more perfect.
"King Damien Tristan is my fated mate and, a while ago, we both accepted the mate bond." She revealed, causing another wave of shock in the room.
"This is good news!" Alpha Elijah cheered happily and the rest of the crowd followed suit but Lesley and Ava remained as bitter as ever.
"Please, your grace. Come with me so we can discuss this wonderful news better." Alpha Elijah suggested and Damien nodded before telling him to lead the way. As they walked, he made sure Elenor was beside him.
"You owe me. I just helped you get back at your boyfriend." He whispered to her as they walked.
Elenor rolled her eyes and hissed. "I don't remember asking you to do that. Besides, nothing you said was made up so I have nothing to thank you for. It's like you said, you need a mate and I'm guessing it's because you are king so, if we look it at again, you owe me." Elenor whispered back with a smile as she remembered that it was taboo for a Lycan king to be without a fated mate after his first ten years on the throne.
Unlike what he had made her believe, she was the one doing him a favor.
"I will become your mate, thereby securing your throne for you as Lycan King. You should thank me for my kindness, your grace."
