Bound to the ruthless Don
chapter one
The night air was thick with tension, the city lights flickering against the sleek black cars parked along the private entrance of LaMarette lounge. Mia Davidson adjusted the straps of her designer heels, her heart hammering amongst her ribs,a rhythm that matched the anxiety twisting inside her. she had always been used to power, privilege and a life where her father's name opened doors until now.
The sudden death of her father had stripped off all that security. relegated from wealth to whispers, from luxury to uncertainty, she felt the weight of every eye in the room as she entered the private lounge. her emerald green dress clung to her curves like armor, a bold statement: she would not be underestimated, even if she had nothing left.
"Ms Davidson", a voice cut through the low hum of conversation. smooth, commanding, impossible to ignore.Mia looked up and there he was: Dominic Moretti. the infamous Don of the Moretti crime family. eyes sharp, calculating yet somehow intoxicating. His tailored suit and cold charisma left no doubt- he was a man used to getting what he wanted.
"you came", he said simply, almost a statement of fact rather than a greeting.
Mia straightened, hiding the tremor I her hands." I didn't have a choice". Dominic smiled- a predators smile, slow and deliberate. "choice", he mused, "is a luxury few truly have. especially when debts...of a certain kind...are involved". her breath hitched. The Moretti family's reputation was legend, feared even by those who never spoke its name aloud. And now, Mia was caught in their web, a pawn in a game far larger than she had ever imagined.
"You need to prove yourself ",Dominic continued, stepping closer, the scent of his cologne sharp and addictive. "loyalty is expensive. and betrayed fatal."
Mia met his gaze, refusing to show fear. he had been clever, resourceful and though she had no idea what this new world demanded, she knew one thing: survival was not optional. "you'll find I don't give up easily she said, her voice steady.
a slow, approving nod from Dominic "good. I like ambition. " he paused, faintest smirk tugging at his lips. "but remember, in my world, ambition has a price.
As Mia left the lounge, the city's skyline glittered like a promise- or a warning. somewhere deep in the shadows, her life has already changed, and the ruthless Don would make sure she knew.
chapter two
Mia woke to the low hum of the city beneath her apartment window, the noen lights painting her walls in red and gold streaks. sleep had been elusive; the memory of Don Morettis gase lingered like fire against her skin. she knew the world she had entered wasn't forgiving, but she hadn't realized how deep the shadows went.
Her phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number:" meet me at the docks. Midnight. Come alone". Her stomach twisted. Every instinct screamed danger, but she also knew one thing-refusing the Don's summons wasn't an option.
Hours later, Mia approached the deserted docks, heels clicking softly against the concrete. The smell of salt and oil mixed with the night air, a sharp reminder that the city had a pulse she could never control.
A sleek black Car rolled to a stop. Dominic stepped out, his expression unreadable, but his presence filled the space around her like a storm.
"you're punctual ", he said, voice low. "that's a good start".
Before she could even respond, two men appeared from the shadows, dragging a man between them. Blood streaked his clothes. Dominic's eyes locked on Mia's. "This is a lesson". he said calmly. "Loyalty is not about promises and pretty words, it is about action".
Mia's stomach churned. she had never been in a situation like this before. Her father's world had been clean, corporate and predictable. Now she was in a world where danger danger came dressed in designer suits and smiles.
Dominic stepped closer, his hand brushing hers-not by accident. "Do you understand?". He asked. "One mistake, one slip, and it won't be just you who pays". Mia swallowed hard, forcing her fear in to determination. " I understand ". "Good", he said , a faint smirk returning. "Then we begin".
As the men dragged the injured man away, Mia realized something unsettling. Dominic was not just texting her-he was showing her the cost of power, control and survival in his world. And if she wanted to remain more than a pawn, she would need to play by his rules. Her pulse raced. Adrenaline sharp and intoxicating. somewhere beneath the fear, a spark of something else flickered- curiosity defiance and maybe even attraction. She did not know if surviving that night meant keeping her soul intact- but one thing was certain: nothing in her life will ever be the same.
chapter three
The morning after the docks, Mia barely slept. every shadow in her apartment seemed to whispers threats, every sound a warning. yet amid the fear, a stubborn determination burned inside her. She would not let herself be broken- not by Dominic, not by the world he ruled.
Her phone buzzed again. Another message, this time clear: "Meet me at the Moretti estate noon, don't be late".
The Moretti estate loomed like a fortress on the outskirts of the city. she approached it with six of awe and apprehension. the gates opening as if Dominic had been expecting her all along. Inside, the air smelled of polished wood, expensive leather and faint danger.
Dominic was waiting in the study, his dark eyes fixed on hee as she entered. "You've made it". He said. "Good". his gaze sharpened. " Today you prove yourself, not with words, with action. He handed her a folder, inside were photos, names and instructions that made her stomach twist. A rival dealer, a hidden ledger, a choice that could either secure her place or destroy her.
"You will decide", Dominic said, stepping closer. His presence was overwhelming and and intoxicating. " I want loyalty, I want initiative, I want to see of you're capable of surviving, in my world ".
Mia's hands trembled but she steadied herself. Fear and desire twisted inside her like a storm. One wrong move could cost lives, her own included. And yet she thought of defying him, of claiming so
e control in his dangerous game, thrilled her.
She took a deep breath. "I'll do it" , she said. Her voice firm "I won't fail". Dominic's smirk was slow, approving, dangerous. "Good, I like fire", he murmured. "Jus remember, fire can warm you or burn you alive".
As she left the estate, folder clutched lightly, Mia knew that today would mark the beginning of her transformation. From privileged daughter to someone forged in the shadows of power, danger and desire. And Dominic, the ruthless Don, would be at the center of it all.
Chapter four
The city felt colder that night, the streets slick with rain, reflecting the noen signs like fractured glass. Mia gripped the folder light, each step toward the target carrying the weight of the choice she made. she had promised Dominic she would do it and now there was no turning back.
The rival dealers warehouse loomed ahead, shadows crawling along the walls like living things. Mia's heart pounded, but she remembered herself of the lesson she had already learned: survival demanded courage- and cunning.
Inside, crates of goods-some legal, some not- lined the walls. Her eyes scanned for the ledger, the key to proving her worth to Dominic. Every noise made her flinch- a dripping pipe, the distant hum of machines, the shuffle of a guard.
A man stepped out from behind a crate, startled by hee presence. mia's breath caught. she knew she couldn't hesitate. Using the element of surprise, she grabbed the ledger, shoving it into her bag. Her pulse raced, her hands trembling-not just from fear, but from thrill of stepping into a world she had only glimpsed from the shadows.
suddenly a voice behind her: "I wouldn't do that I were you".
she froze. Dominic stood in the doorway, his silhouette framed by the warehouse lights. calm, commanding, terrifying. mia's stomach twisted in a mix of dread and something she couldn't name- something magnetic.
"you did well", he said quietly. approaching her, "but remember in my world, even the smallest misstep can cause more than you're willing to pay".
Mia swallowed hard, trying to steady her racing heart. "I- I didn't hesitate ".
Dominic's eyes softened, just slightly, a dangerous contrast to the ruthless man the city feared. "No hesitation ", he repeated. "Good, that counts".
The moment hung between them, thick with tension. Mia realized something startling: fear and attraction could coexist, feeding off each other in ways that made her feel both alive and nervous.
"You're learning", Dominic said, his hand brushing hers as he retrieved the ledger. The contact lingered longer than necessary, sending sparks through her that had nothing to do with electricity. "But this is only the beginning ".
As Mia left the warehouse, her dress soaking in rain, she felt a shift inside her. she was not just Mia Davidson, the heiress that lost everything. she was a player now, navigating through a dangerous game of power, loyalty and desire. And the ruthless Don would always be there at every step, watching and testing and tempting.
chapter five
The morning light felt harsh, slicing through mia's apartment like the truth she wasn't ready to face. The ledger rested on her desk, a tangible reminder that she had crossed the line she could never uncross. The exhilaration of last night's success was already tinged with unease.
Her phone buzzed again. A text from Dominic:"meet me at the usual place, now".
Mia's pulse quickened. she knew that in Don's world, "now" meant urgency and danger. The usual place was Dominic's private rooftop terrace, high above the city. when she arrived, he was already there, leaning against the railing, the skyline reflected on his dark eyes.
"you did well", he said in a low voice, almost approving. "But success brings attention-and attention brings enemies ". Mia frowned, her stomach tightening. "enemies?".
"people who won't like that you crossed onto their territory " Dominic explained. "people who will test you, people who might try to hurt you in order to get to me". A chill ran down her spine. The world she had stepped into, was far bigger and more dangerous than she had imagined.
