8 I froze on the threshold of a ground floor pub. Light streamed in through the grimy windows to my right and revealed an empty tavern similar to the Lynx Lodge. However, there was none of the lively banter of the waitresses and the loud shouts from the playing tables. In fact, there was only a single table with two chairs situated against the far wall. Bee was nowhere to be found, but someone was seated in the chair opposite where I stood. I froze as recognition confused my senses. The person seated in the chair was the gear-clad woman from my vision, Allie. In front of her on the table was a half-filled short tumbler and the revolver.
