Drunken Nights

The snowstorm had gotten worse and we realized that we were snowed in my apartment. The was a warning on the radio that no one should be outdoors. Hans had no choice but to stay with me to say it was awkward would be an understatement. He had called his superior to tell him what happened though I doubted he mentioned the race of the woman he was stuck with. The power went out after that and we had to resort to candles and the fireplace as a source of light. "Thank you for supper again, I missed homemade food". He said and I smiled. "My pleasure". I said and there was silence for a while. I cleared my throat. "So are you enjoying Paris?". I asked. "Right now?. Yes". He said and I wondered what he meant by that. "Have you seen the Eiffel tower, it's as beautiful as they say". I smiled. "I'm not here on holiday Grace". He said and I nodded. "My Henry proposed to me there". I said sadly as I played with my ring reminiscing about that night. It was winter, the beautiful white snow filled the buzzing Parisian streets. Henry and I walked down the streets with our arms linked. I laughed as I watched children hitting each other with snowballs. I was born and raised in California so snow was something new to me. "Look they built a snowman". I said to Henry as we passed a group of children building a snowman. "Where are you taking me". I said. "Its a surprise". He said and rolled my eyes. "It better be good". I said. "I promise it will". He said kissing my forehead. We finally arrived at our destination and I noticed a group of people surrounding the Eiffel tower. "Its almost time for them to put on the Christmas lights". He said and I nodded. "You should see it's the second most beautiful thing in the world second to you of course". He said and I giggled. "Oh Henry". I said and then the crowd started to get excited. "They are about to turn on the lights". Someone shouted and I could feel the excitement course through my body. "5 4 3 2 1". The people chanted before the lights flashed but instead of Christmas lights, there was a message. Will you marry me? I turned to look at Henry and saw him kneeling with a box that had a ring in it. I gasped feeling tears form in my eyes. "From the day I met, I always said that I want you to be my wife". He said. "Your beautiful face, gentle spirit and caring nature as made fall for you and I have fallen hard. So would you do me the honor of being my wife". He said and I nodded as tears rolled down my cheeks. "Yes". I said and he got up, taking my glove off before sliding the ring into my finger and I hugged him as the people started clapping and cheering. "I love you". I said kissing him "I love you too". He said. We pulled away and he said something to the group of people next thing I saw they took out their instruments and played Si J'etais Blanche by Josephine Baker. The song that played when we first met in a restaurant. "Remember when I first laid my eyes on you this song was playing". He said and I giggled. "You remember?". "I remember the yellow dress you were wearing paired with white shoes and you painted your lips with baby pink lipstick, you were the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever been blessed with seeing every man in that restaurant looked at me with envy when I approached you".He said looking into my crying eyes before he took me into his arms and we began dancing slowly, I felt like I was in heaven. I gave Hans a sad smile as I wiped the tears from my eyes. He looked at me with a look of sadness before taking a swig of his whiskey. I cleared my throat. "I'm sorry for getting emotional on you". I said "You love this man". He stated. "More than anything". I said with a small smile thinking about Henry. "You want some". He said thrusting the whiskey bottle at me. "Oh no thank you". I said "It will make you feel better and forget about everything". He said and I took the bottle before taking a swig grimacing at the bitter taste. I had never drunk any hard liquor before that night. "So does this make you forget?". I asked handing him the bottle. "Sometimes". He said downing it. "Do you miss your wife". I asked watching him open another bottle. "Yes". He replied drinking before giving it to me. "I bet she misses you like I miss Henry". I said "She is okay". He said and I nodded. They went back to silence until he got up and took a seat next to me. "Why don't you go back home, I mean the U.S. is not captured by the Nazis". He said looking straight at her, we were so close together, I could feel his hot breath. "Sadly the Nazis treat my people better than the U.S. government". I whispered in reply, my speech slurred a bit due to the alcohol. "You one of the most beautiful women I have laid my eyes on". He whispered as he gently took my face into his hands. I closed my eyes relishing the feeling, I missed Henry deeply. "Please". I said, I felt was betraying Henry but my sorrow was taking over common sense. He moved closer to me before he claimed my lips, his soft pouty lips moved against mine. I held onto his strong shoulders as he deepened our kiss. He gently laid me down as his large frame covered me, he used his arm to balance himself so he wouldn't crush me. He trailed down to my neck as I was left a moaning mess. "Aah ahh, Hans". I moaned softly as he continued necking me. He laid on top of me and then grounding his erection into my crotch. "Oh my God Hans". I said pushing him a little, my senses came back and I realized what we almost did. "We can't do this". I said and he got off me and put his face into his hands. "Sh*t sh*t". He muttered angrily. "I apologize for my actions". He said and I nodded. "I was involved too,I think it's the alcohol. We both need sleep, I'll bring back blankets". Before skipping into my bedroom,I came back and saw him seated where I left him. "There you go". I said giving him the blanket, he got up and slowly took the blanket from me, my heart soared when our fingers grazed and I gasped when I saw the look in his eyes when he took my hands in his. "It's not right". I whispered. "It will be only once". He said taking my face into his hands. I looked into his eyes and saw the pain, I was in pain we were both drunk so I did something that I would live to regret. I kissed him before he picked me up making our way into my bedroom.
