Chapter 23

Grunting in pain, Sinister moved to sit up on the cot. "What's happening?" Stefan demanded answers. "It seems that age is starting to catch up". Shadow cleared his throat as he looked at Sinister. "f**k this, I am fine". Sinister moved to sit on the side of the bed. "And what can we do to stop this?" Stefan pressed harder for an answer. Shadow shook his head. "The cure makes an immortal human. She has lived for more than six thousand years. Her body was trapped in a frozen time of her age when she was turned..." He said "You can't stop the aging process". He finished as she clasped his hands together. Stefan looked at Sinister. "I'll make things right!" He voiced harshly as he left the room. Sinister looked down for a moment, then back up to Shadow. "How long do I have?" Sinister stated softly. "If I had to put a time limit on this, I would say no more than two weeks..." Shadow finished as he moved to leave the room. Sinister was left alone for the first time to clear her head. She let out a soft sigh that turned into a chuckle about the situation she was in. Was death that bad? She would finally be free from all this. Sinister stood and moved to the window and crossed her arms. She had to act on what was the next right move in this chess game she was playing. She whistled loudly and waited for the snow-white owl to appear. Swooshing into the window and into the room, the snow-white owl landed on the railing of the window. Sinister had already written the note she had mixed feelings about sending. Tying the note around the owl's right leg, she knew what she was asking and knew it would come, at a great price. Watching the owl take its flight into the setting sun's rays, she then began to make her way towards the area where her fate would soon decide her path. Sinister looked at the horse that stood before her in the stalls. "Ugh" Sinister hated the thought of taking this beast to get to her destination, but without her Immortal speed, this was the only way she was getting around. Climbing on the horse's back, Sinister grumbled as she clicked her heels onto its sides and held on tight as the horse took off from the castle. The wind hitting her face was intense and cold as she clicked her heels into the beast's sides harder. Pulling the reins, making the horse stop, she looked around the forest. Night had fallen upon her, and she didn't have much time to reach where she was needed. Kicking the horse once more, she readied herself for the deal she was about to make with a demon. Pulling at the reins once more, she looked around the teepee and raised a brow as her eyes scanned the area around. "Took you long enough." A male's rough and seductive voice came from behind her. Sliding off the horse, Sinister looked at him and chuckled "Sorry for the delay". She mocked with a snicker. He grinned as his eyes scanned her up and down on her. "Human poor thing". He taunted. Sinister chewed at her bottom lip as anger was spiking. With a grin she placed her right hand on her right hip and spoke. "And are you going to give me what I want?" Kairon smirked as he pulled a small vile from his coat pocket. Sinister grinned as she saw the vile in his hands. "But first, you will give me what I want." His voice was rough and filled with mystery. "And it is what?" Sinister answered. He clicked his tongue as he shook his head with a wicked grin and held out his hand to her. Sinister raised a brow "I want you to wear my mark". He grinned "I won't sell my soul to a demon". She chuckled aloud. He grinned as he moved his hand back. "Guess this little vile can just vanish." His voice echoed as his hand soon held a flame and moved slowly towards the vile. "Wait..." Sinister spoke up. "Change of mind girl?" He grinned as he still held the flame close to the vile. "What are the terms?" Sinister stated aloud in a desperate voice. "Good girl" Kairon grinned as he made the flames disappear. "You belong to me, Immortal or human. Whatever I need, you will get it. Whatever I want, you will bring it". He held his hand out once more towards her. Sinister looked at his hand then moved a step closer before she clasped her hand with his. The wind rushed around them as their hands held together. A bright light flashed as leaves and twigs went flying around. A burning began to sting in her hand, and only moved further up her arm as she held onto his. The light grew brighter and brighter until it went into darkness around. Letting go of his hand, Sinister looked at her forearm to see the mark he had given her. The crest glowed in a reddish tint still slightly burning as it settled into her skin. The crest itself held a portrait of a demon, but not just any kind of demon, but one of a lord. Sinister held her hand out to him "And your end?" She held back every emotion from the mark. He placed the vile into her hand then pulled her close with a grin. "Looking forward to making you do as I desire" His breath blew hot on her face as he let go of the vile and looked down at her. Sinister gripped the vile tight in her hand as she glanced up at him. "Cute demon boy." She taunted as she pushed past him to enter the teepee. He followed close behind her as they went into the teepee. "And what's the use of my blood to you?" He asked as he moved past her to look around. "So invested aren't you?" Sinister moved to a small chest that was placed by the bed. Opening the chest, she placed the vile inside gently. Kairon smirked as he watched her. "Honestly, I am rather curious about your interests. Seeing that you have a great collection of blood samples already," Sinister grinned as she then shut the chest and looked at him. "That's none of your business, demon boy." She winked with an attitude. Within a moment, Sinister fell to her knees as a purple ghoulish chain appeared around her throat yanking her to him. Sinister moved her hands to the chained collar trying to free herself before he delivered another harsh yank, causing her to fall on her hands. Sinister sat up on her knees and looked at him with a snarl. "You forget already that I own you?" He smirked as he dragged his nail down the side of her face. Gripping her chin and holding on to it so that she could look at him. "Your mine and whatever you do or say I will and always know". He let go of her chin, he snapped his fingers and the chain disappeared from her neck. Sinister moved to get back on her feet with glances of hate on her face." Good luck lover boy, Many have tried and only failed when they tried to control me". Sinister smirked. This only made him grin at her words with nothing to say as he turned to take his leave from the teepee. Sinister held her breath for a moment and looked down at the mark on her arm. Sinister realized what she had to do and time was running out quickly for her. She had to become a vampire once more, but this time it would be her own choice to become one.
