Prologue - The Battle between Light and Dark
Thousand years ago...
"Everyone, stay sharp! These creatures outside are not of this world. They may be stronger than us and they may possess power but God is with us. The Lord will not let the dark force win against His precious creation, so take heart, take courage! Stand up and don't let these nasty creatures instill fear on you, we will win this fight and may the Light be with us!"
Anduroy's powerful voice echoed throughout the cave wherein they took as their shelter and hideout from the creatures of the dark.
Anduroy was the son of their late leader Anduras who was killed by a demon named Dayabushka, knows as the chief of their legion.
Without hesitatuon, Anduroy stepped up after his father's position as the command-in-chief of the army to avenge his father's death.
Everyone inside the cave took their weapons and rose up from the ground with a determined face. Everyone has a serious look on their faces, they are all aware of the menacing danger waiting for them outside.
But, Anduroy is right, the Light will help them in this battle.
Anduroy walked towards the front of his troop, he stare at the opening of the cave darkly, gripping his rifle tightly.
For everyone.
For his father.
With a loud cry, Anduroy began walking towards the opening of the cave, where the enemy lies.
His troop marched behind them, they stare at the darkness that lies before them with a taut expression.
They may all die, they may all lose but they will die trying to fight for freedom, for peace and for their safety.
They will not let this vile creatures cause more chaos and fear on them, on their families!
As soon as their feet stepped outside the cave, loud screeching voice erupted in the sky that hurted their ears.
They all look-up, it was Dayabushka - the only flying demon.
His enormous wings almost covered the light coming from the moon.
Good thing they're wearing goggles that Anduroy invented, it enables them to see things much clearer at night. Anduroy was gifted with a brilliant mind.
Dayabushka landed on a tree nearby, almost all of its leaves fall off from holding so much weight.
Dayabushka is a fearsome demon, his red-slit eyes stared at Anduroy's troop with a taunting expression. His nose almost resembling to a beak sniffles the cold air. His body covered with thick scales, he almost look like of a bird - only he has no feathers, adding menace to his already frightening physique.
But Anduroy's troop stood to their ground with valiant expression.
Dayabushka let out another screech like of a war cry and there, the battle began.
The vile creatures whose smell stinks more than a trash being dumped for years jumped out from the bush they were hiding and charged towards Anduroy's troop.
The soldiers stood on their ground with their weapons already aiming at the enemies - waiting for the first attack.
The first demon lurched towards one soldier, his razor-like teeth making way towards its neck but the soldier beside him was quick enough to pull the trigger. The demon fall on the ground lifeless before it could make a taste out of the soldier's neck
Anduroy caught the demon Dayabushka sneered, sitting still at the top of the tree unbothered that it was humans who got the first blood.
As if on cue, the demons ran towards us in unison with a loud cry.
Anduroy commanded his troops to get ready as the bloody battle will soon errupt.
Anduroy shot his first target in its chest, the demon wailed in pain as it falls to the ground.
His hands were busy pulling the trigger as pile of dead bodies of the demons that were shot by him piling up in front of him.
A handful of his troops were already down but they're not yet losing. Meanwhile, Dayabushka was just still sitting on the tree with a bored look on his face.
Menacing smile casually appears on his face everytime a human were killed by his legion.
Anduroy saw that look and angers him. He clenched his jaw and took his sword tucked in at his back.
Needless to say, Anduroy was pissed.
"Dayabushka!", he called the demon.
He succeeded in getting its attention as its red-slit eyes bored onto his face with a sneer plastered on its mouth.
" Don't tell me these stories of the supposed great Dayabushka were just lies?" , he snickered, Anduroy's taunting face earned a reaction from the demon.
The pride of this demon.
The demon eyed him angrily.
But his expression changed quickly, a smirk formed on his lips.
"Oh I see, you're done grieving for your Father", his voice thundered throughout the forest, the demon threw Anduroy a smug look after seeing the man's reaction. " My condolences for your loss, on the other hand, I just want to tell that your father tastes - "
The demon's speech was interrupted by Anduroy's cry while charging towards the demon. His sword aiming at the demon who's unfazed with sudden attack.
Anduroy, with all his might, jumped towards the demon but Dayabushka was quick. Anduroy's blade missed the demon's throat.
Before the man could make another attack, the demon raised his clawed hands and made its way towards the man's left arm. The demon's sharp nails pierced into Anduroy's arms.
Anduroy wailed in pain as he groped for his hurt arm.
"Your father was a much skilled warrior, you're in no match for me Anduroy. Why don't you all just accept your fate?", the demon laughed mockingly. All the other demons joined in, Anduroy looked behind at his troops and gritted his teeth when he saw them dying one by one.
They're losing the battle.
But, Anduroy won't let that happen.
He closed his eyes and uttered his prayer towards the Lord.
May the Light protect us!
May the Light protect His people!
With a swift move, he attacked Dayabushka's legion one by one with his sword.
" The people of the Lord will win this fight!" he cried out after killing the last demon.
Exhausted from fighting alone against the demons, Dayabushka fall onto his knees clutching on his blood-strickened sword.
He will not let his father's death go in vain!
"HAHAHAHAHAHA, very aggressive I see. Way braver than your father but you're still weak. You think you can win against the great Dayabushka? Ha!", Dayabushka with all his might looked down towards the exhausted man with a smirk.
Anduroy's clenched his fist on the ground. The demon was clearly mocking his mere strength.
He rose up to his feet, gripping his sword tightly on his hands, " But still, you are no match to my God and by the Light! I will win this fight." gripping his teeth, he aimed his blade towards the creature's heart.
However, as expected from a demon, Dayabushka played dirty.
The demon flapped his enermous wings and bolted towards the sky.
Dayabushka has the upperhand of the battle and Anduroy knows it.
The demon took the first attack, the sharp nails of his talons pierced Anduroy's back and lift him up from the ground.
Anduroy screeched in excruciating pain while he heard the demon's menacing laugh.
Anduroy had no choice but to drop his sword and used his both hands to free himself from the clutch of the demon.
"You should have accepted your fate at the beginning weak creature", the demon's taunting expression angers him more.
Anduroy is losing a lot of blood and getting weaker. He could feel his body collapsing but he's fighting against it. His will to avenge his father and his people are much stronger than his physical strength.
In his mind, he refuses to lose.
On a flash, the demon let him go and watched him falling from the sky to his demise.
Anduroy screamed in pain when he fell to the ground, his sword lying beside his right arm.
His body couldn't move an inch, strength left him and he's soaking on his own blood.
He reached for his sword and closed his eyes.
Oh dear Lord, hear this prayer from your people, hear us, protect us! Use me oh Lord for your victory! It's only You who can defeat the enemy.
He could hear Dayabushka's wings flapping towards him.
With last strength, he forcefully rose up to his feet - gripping his sword.
Sight slowly leaving his eyes.
" You really don't know when to give up, annoying creatures! I tell you mere human, I am stronger than you and I'm meant to rule this world!" Dayabushka hissed, his wings creating whirlwinds that's making Anduroy more difficult to balance.
Anduroy smiled. "Who say that? You? I tell you too, today will be the day that the Lord will have his victory against you vile creatures! The Light will win!"
Dayabushka hissed angrily and lurched towards Anduroy. On an instant, a flash of bright light blinded Dayabushka, giving Anduroy to chance to attack the demon easily.
Anduroy ran towards the demon who's struggling with his sight and with final resolve pierced the demon's heart with his blade.
"And the glory is His."
Anduroy whispered in the whimpering creature.
Anduroy bended on his knees beside the dead Dayabushka.
A smile appeared on his face.
Finally.
On his last breath, he looked up the sky and uttered his thanks to the Lord.
There, on the forest of Halarva, Anduroy and the demon, Dayabushka died side by side with the remaining demons retreated underground.
