Chapter 1:Time travel, but a hundred years into the future
**Snow.**
When Ywen opened her eyes, all she saw was the pure, silent, and utterly meaningless snow, accompanied by the biting cold, as the mountain winds howled across her skin.
She frowned and cast a warming charm on herself, breathing warm air into her hands as she stood still, silently waiting for her body to warm up.
Then, Ywen lowered her head in confusion and looked at her feet. She then moved the hand holding her wand back to her eyes.
Great. The time magic had clearly brought her to some unknown, desolate place, and had also caused an age shift in her body—her sixteen-year-old soul was now trapped in a body that was about eleven years old. Perhaps she should be thankful that her magical power came from her soul. If her magic had been tied to her physical body, she might have frozen to death in this snow-covered mountain, unable to perform even a warming charm.
Haha, the founder of the ancient secret society dying from being unable to cast a warming charm... That would be tragic!
"Alright, maybe I should confirm where I've ended up first."
She muttered in frustration, trudging forward along the snow-covered path. The terrain of the mountain was uneven, and the swirling snowflakes forced her to squint, barely able to make out a tall white tower standing on the other side of the mountain, almost blending into the snow.
...Well, at least it's a building. That means there could be people around.
Ywen tightened her grip on her wand for a moment. A year of war had sharpened her senses. Her gaze flicked to a sparse cluster of fir trees nearby, where she definitely saw a shadow dart by. She raised her wand.
"Who's there?"
"English?" Behind the fir trees, three men in wizard robes stepped out. Seeing that the person approaching was just a young girl with no significant threat, they muttered, "Is she British? Doesn’t seem like it."
They spoke in German. Ywen froze for a moment before smoothly switching languages and asking in German, "Who are you? Where is this place?"
Her tone remained calm, but her grip on the wand tightened as magical energy quietly surged toward her fingertips.
These three weren’t good people. She had seen the snow-melting sheep behind them, now lying on the ground, its once clear eyes filled with pain. It had lost one of its horns and was staring at Ywen with a pleading gaze.
Poachers. Ywen focused on the three dark wizards, and without even looking at the bags they were carrying, she could see the black mist rising from the souls around them—only she could see it, revealing their true identities.
The three men exchanged glances. The one in the center gave a slightly strange laugh and said in German, "Little girl, did you accidentally find the door key to our house? Do you know that not every place is suitable for playing adventure games?"
"Where is this?" she asked again.
"Poor little thing..." The man didn’t answer her but instead looked her up and down with a mixture of pity and malice. He pulled out his wand from his robe pocket. "I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until after you die to get the answer—if you can become a ghost, that is—Avada Kedavra!"
He shouldn’t have attacked so soon. Ywen had already prepared, dodging the green light effortlessly and sighing in her heart.
She picked up her wand and cast a Shield Charm, reflecting the two curses aimed at her. She turned her attention to the two remaining wizards, whose faces were now filled with confusion. She moved her lips and twisted her wand.
After all, when she had slaughtered the fairy followers, poachers, and fire-ash snake party camps in England... these people hadn’t even known where she was.
"Soul extraction!"
...
Moments later, Ywen gently kicked the three dark wizards, now bound with a Binding Charm and lying in disarray, chuckling softly, "Is that all you can take?"
The three adult wizards no longer exuded their previous arrogance and bloodlust. Their faces were filled with terror, as if they saw her as an ancient monster disguised as a little girl, especially the one who had just been hit by her two heart-piercing curses. Upon seeing her, he immediately shrank back, but behind him was a sheer cliff, leaving him no place to retreat.
"You... What do you want to know?"
"Hey," Ywen said, "I still prefer you when you were rebellious."
By the way, how had the battle strength of these dark wizards become so weak? She thought it would take a little more effort to defeat them, but instead, the three of them were easily taken down by her continuous combo, leaving them kneeling on the ground. Their actual combat experience was pitifully low.
First, she healed the poor snow-melting sheep and let it go. Then, she turned back to the three wizards and asked, "What year is it?"
The men froze for a moment, and the one in the center answered, "1991... madam."
Ywen: ...
She had to admit, her expression cracked for a moment.
Wait, wait, if she remembered correctly, the time magic was supposed to send her back to the past, not forward into the future, right?
Even going into the future would be acceptable, but from 1891 to 1991—what kind of Merlin’s joke was that?! A hundred years had passed!
Her vision blurred, and Ywen finally understood why her body had undergone unexpected changes. She was truly thankful for Merlin’s blessing, as she had traveled forward a whole century. The only cost was a slight shrinkage in her physical form.
Ywen continued to interrogate them.
"What was your purpose for coming here?"
"As you can see, madam, we came here to hunt the snow-melting sheep, to get its horns, fur, and organs. We've been running low on money lately..." Upon seeing Ywen’s emotionless gaze, the man shuddered and quickly added, "We won’t do it again, we swear!"
Ywen was no longer inclined to believe their words. After all, no one at her age should be this capable of performing dark magic, taking down three grown men with a single series of spells. She had been in her sixth year before the time magic took her, and she hadn’t even passed the NEWTs exam yet. Was she going to be the first student in Hogwarts history to fail to graduate because of an unexpected time jump?
"Alps?"
"Yes, we’re in Austria."
Once the situation was clear, Ywen sat down and built a snow chair with a sense of melancholy, thinking about how things had ended up like this.
The time magic had sent her a century into an unknown future, completely disrupting all her plans. She had barely managed to reach her sixth year in school. Would she really be the first student in Hogwarts history to not graduate because of an unplanned time jump?
Ywen: "As far as I know, there aren’t many magical creatures in the Alps, and species like the snow-melting sheep aren't widely used, so the profits aren’t high. What brought you to this remote place?"
