Chapter 1. The Ex. Liliana.
She sighed tiredly as she sat there looking outside the window. It was dark right now and she had finished work. However, that was 2 hours ago and her older brother Ikaia was meant to pick her up 2 hours ago but he didn't come. So instead of calling a cab - she didn't like that Indian man because he was too was creepy, or walking to the bus stop - she was too damn lazy to walk, she waited. Ms Frieda, her boss, noticed she has been here for 2 hours but didn't say anything. She would take a glance at her and then frown as she slumped more into the chair with a scowl on her face. Liliana sighed for the hundredth time and picked up her phone. She went to type a message when her phone vibrated in her hand. She opened the message and frowned as a text came from Ikaia. 'Lil, I'm sorry If I wasn't there to pick you up.' She scowled and rolled her eyes. "Damn right you weren't." She muttered as she read the next line. 'I caught got up in work and now I have to stay till 3:30. She mentally groaned and placed a palm on her temple. Sure Ikaia would get caught up in work. He was a cop. She sighed and closed her phone putting it in her pocket. She made up her mind and decided she was going to walk. Liliana had her other older brother, Tavita, to call but she knew he was busy. Busy banging some other chicks he hooks up with at the club her older cousin owned in town. She had the urge to punch him sometimes. His past was what made him turn out like this. She also had her other brother. The eldest child. Keleki. Or Greg as everyone calls him. However, he had a family to look after since his wife died two years ago. She didn't want him to leave in the middle of the night while the kids were sleeping. They were young. Ages 3-9. She also had two other older brothers. Kenai and Mose. The second eldest. Twins. But they lived miles away from here. She was the only girl and youngest in the family with overprotective brothers. The sound of heels clicking against the white floor made her look up. Ms Frieda stood about 4 metres away from her holding two letters in her hand. Her ginger wavy hair was pulled into a high ponytail making her look like a cheerleader. Her head was bent a little making her glasses move a little bit down to the middle of her nose while her green eyes stared at Liliana with concern. Some people have mistaken her as a 20-year-old since she looked really young and beautiful but she is 33. She has a daughter, Pia, who is a 3-year-old. The father however left. No one knew who it was or why he left. It was like he disappeared into thin air. "Liliana are you alright ?" She asked as she looked at her. Liliana sighed and held her bag. She nodded her head as she adjusted the white beanie on her head. Ms Frieda raised a brow. She looked outside and realized that Ikaia wasn't here. She looked at the clock. Her eyes blinked rapidly as she stared at the clock. Ikaia was meant to be here 2 hours ago. She looked back at Liliana who stood there awkwardly and frowned. "How are you getting home Liliana, the last bus left an hour ago and the last cab finished-" she looked down her watch. "Now." She trailed off staring at her. Liliana bit her lip. ' F this! I'm walking.' She thought before giving Ms Frieda a small smile. "I'm going to walk." She said. Ms Frieda looked at her with big eyes. "Are you crazy ?!" She yelled. Liliana winced. Ms Frieda smiled sheepishly at her and composed herself. "It's dangerous out there." She paused. "Where is Tavita ?" She asked crossing her arms making her boobs pop out more. Liliana envied her boobs. No wonder why all the high school boys and older men - who were single, ugly, creepy and married (Liliana rolled her eyes) - came here at the restaurant - to check out Ms Frieda's boobs. And curves. That woman had curves all in the right places. Especially that butt. It was freaking big. Every girl envied her. Liliana moved her eyes somewhere else and rubbed her neck. She honestly didn't want to answer that question. "Liliana, you there?" Ms Frieda waved her hand in her face. Liliana gave her a fake smile. "He's busy." She lied. No way in hell would she tell her where he is and what he is doing right now. She will be disgusted and look at him differently. He was Pia's godfather. Pia's father was great friends with Tavita. No wonder why he got the role of the godfather. Ms Frieda frowned. "Are you sure you're going to walk ?" Liliana nodded her head but inside she was scared as s**t. This will be her first time walking alone in the dark. Sure she goes outside the house in the dark to sit on the grass - but that's sitting outside the house while her brothers are watching her every move thinking she'll leave and go hook up with a guy - but walking home, that is different. Walking in the dark surrounded by big tall trees that are pretty much towering over people as they walk past and making shadows that actually look like a bloody ghost scares the s**t out of a lot of people. Once she opened the door dust of wind blew across her face making her shiver. "Alrighty then, goodnight Liliana, be safe." Ms Frieda pointed a finger at her with a smile. Liliana chuckled. "I will Ms Frieda." Ms Frieda rolled her eyes with a smile. "Call me Ana. No need to be so formal." Liliana laughed a little before saluting her and walking out of the restaurant. She really needs to buy a car instead of relying on Ikaia to pick her up all the time. She hated it. She did have a car but it was smashed up pretty bad by a group of teenagers who thought it was so cool to bring a baseball bat in the middle of the night and smash up the car parked up front. A video was then posted on the internet the next day and when their parents found out they got an earful. Poor boys had to push the car down the road to the car wrecked shop. It was embarrassing for them. They also had to clean up the town with a cop watching them 24/7. This went on for about 6 months. There was no sympathy for them. They deserved it. She could feel Ana's eyes on her as she walked and she smiled. Ana Frieda is a very protective woman. She looked to the side before crossing the road to the other side to get to the shortcut. She knew where the shortcut was. Thanks to going on walk every day before work started. Her foot almost tripped up on a branch that blocked her way. Luckily she held onto the street pole to prevent her from face planting on the hard concrete ground. "Stupid branch." She muttered. She then looked at the pole and grinned. "Thanks Pole." She dusted herself off and carried on walking. As the shortcut came into view she frowned. 'Do not enter.' She stared at the sign and face palmed. "Really ?" She mumbled narrowing her eyes at the sign. She looked over the sign and saw that the ground has been smashed up. She thought about walking on it but then realized that no way in hell would she walk on that. It was pretty much wrecked and damaged. One step on it and she'll go 6 feet under the ground. She huffed silently and turned the other way. She guessed she'll have to take the long way home. She had never taken that way before. Sure she lived here in this town and everyone goes ten times or 100 times in their whole life, but Liliana moved here about 5 months ago. This was her childhood place - Krypton Town - Until she moved to Dale Town when she turned 13. As she walked she noticed it looked way darker than the other side. The lamp poles stood tall in the air but however the lights were off. There one lamp pole however that kept flicking back on then back off. Noises of the wind made Liliana shiver coldly as she held her jacket tight to her chest. Her legs were worst affected though. Her bare legs formed goosebumps as the cold air hit across her legs. She made a mental note to wear socking next time if Cyrus doesn't come and pick her up. Her beanie almost flew off as the wind got a little stronger. She fix it back before grabbing her cellphone out. 11:30pm. She sighed and placed her phone back. A noise from the bush however made her froze. She stood in front of the bush as the rustled falling onto the ground. A small growl was heard and her eyes widen. She backed away as the rustle got a little bit bigger. Oh crap... She thought as something busted. Something small jumped out and Liliana's back made contact with the ground as it landed on her. "Argh..." She groaned as she rubbed her temple moaning in pain. She opened her eyes and a puppy sat on her chest wagging his tail while its tongue was close to her face. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. The puppy barked and Liliana smile. "COMPTON !" The puppy barked happily licking her face. She giggled and held it to her face sitting back up forgetting about her sore back as she hugged the Compton. Compton licked her face more and she laughed rubbing his back. "Compton... Hello Boy... You miss me aye... You miss meeee ..." She cooed hugging Compton. Footsteps approached them and she shivered in fear as she looked up. It was so dark she couldn't see. The only thing she could see was the outline of a figure approaching them. She gulped and moved back a little. She yelped as her bum came in contact with a stick. A flashlight caught her off caught and she ended up moving way too fast causing her to halfway sit in the mud. A laugh escaped from the figure and she scowled. She adjusted her eyes to the light and scowled even more at the person in front of her. There standing in front of her stood Ryan. Ryan Rafiki. His gym clothes stuck to his skin showing off his muscles as he bowed over laughing his ass off. His green eyes were clenched shut as his mouth was wide open laughing out loud into the cold silent night. The wind blew across his head making his brown curly quiff sweep to the side once he stood up. Liliana wanted to wipe off that smirk with her fist as he helped her up. He chuckled as she rolled her eyes punching him a little too hard on the chest. "Ouch." He winced rubbing his chest. She scoffed as she fixed herself up. She grimaced at the small mud on her dress and grabbed a tissue from her bag wiping off the mud. "Disgusting..." She grimaced throwing the tissue in the bin. Ryan chuckled making her turn towards him with a scowl. "You bloody scared me !" She yelled jabbing a finger to his chest. He smiled sheepishly rubbing his neck. "Sorry ?" It came out more like a question however causing her to roll her eyes. "What are you doing out here anyways ?" She asked rubbing her arm. He raised a brow at her putting a hand on his hip. "Me ?" He pointed to himself. He narrowed his eyes a little. "Actually the question is-" he paused staring at her. "What are you doing out here ?" "I came to walk." She said. Ryan rolled his eyes. "You shouldn't be walking out here alone Liliana Floriella." She groaned at how he used her middle name. Ryan smiled an innocent smile causing her to scowl. I swear i'm going to get a line if I keep on scowling... she thought as she stared at Ryan with a blank face. Ryan sighed. "Liliana it's dangerous out here you know that ?" She sighed and nodded her head. Ryan blew out a breath and patted her head. Liliana scrunched up her face. "C'mon I'll take you home." Liliana shook her head. Ryan frowned. "I'll take myself home." Ryan raised a brow and shook his head. "Liliana hell to the no you are not walking in the dark alone !" She stubbornly shook her head and crossed her arms. She sighed. "Drake and Dale." She gave him a concern look. "What about them ? What if someone hurts them ?" Ryan sighed as he stared at her. He had a mental battle with himself and realized that the kids always comes first. He nodded his head. After all he was meant to be back by now since he found Compton who is now sleeping on the bench and no one was there. Heck the babysitter wasn't. He stared at Liliana. "You sure you're going to be fine ?" Liliana gave him a small smile. But deep down she was scared as s**t. She shrugged it off however and saluted him. "Be safe Liliana." He warned pointing a finger at her. Liliana chuckled and rolled her eyes. Ryan saluted her with a laugh and watched as she walked away her figure going small before he turned around walking back with a sleeping Compton in his arms. Liliana sighed looking up at the night sky. "Ikaia better watch out," She muttered before continuing on with her journey. As she walked she began to think about her mother. The mother she never met. She died after she entered the world. The only thing she knew about her was that she was stubborn and feisty. She's seen pictures of her and she must say her mother was one damn attractive woman. Apparently they both looked the same. Like mother, like daughter. She remembered her father always glancing at her giving her sad looks. She reminded him of his wife. Her mother. That was why he always kept his distance or left to sleep at his brother's house when she was young. Her brothers however stayed by her side. They didn't blame her. She is a miracle to them. Their mother would have their heads if she ever finds out they hurt their own blood and sibling. She cracked a smile as she remembered the stories they all told her. She laughed silently as she remembered Keleki telling her how he always makes her angry and he ended up getting a big hiding for stealing her sandwich. She giggled. But she still remembered the time she was young when she asked for her mother. 'Liliana giggled as Kenai tried to scooped up the little girl up. Kenai pretended to roar as he crawled on all fours trying to grab the four year old's leg. Keleki stood at the kitchen doorway glancing at Liliana when she was running around the living room. "Nai! Bad Boy! Nofo!" Liliana pouted, speaking in her father's native language, as Kenai held onto he r small legs lightly. Kenai playfully roared as Liliana whacked him with her bear. Keleki shook his head, ruffling Ikaia's head as he walked in from school. "Ikaia!" Liliana yelled happily, almost knocking Kenai's face with her foot. Luckily Kenai dodged it, causing Keleki to chuckle. Tavita came behind Ikaia and grinned at his little sister. Keleki ruffled his hair before he came over to Liliana picking her up, craddling her in his arms. "Lili shower time." Liliana scrunched up her face and shook her head. Keleki smiled. "You smell." Liliana frown angrily slapping his cheeks with her small hands. The boys laughed kissing their little sister's cheeks before she went for a shower. "Poo Lili," Ikaia laughed holding his nose. Liliana pouted trying to pull his long hair, to which he moved pulling out his tongues. Keleki smacked his head lightly making Liliana laughed. "Hahaha Ikaia!" She shouted. Ikaia grumbled at Keleki. "Meanie." Keleki shrugged it off, smiling at him before walking with his sister to the bathroom. Liliana yelped as the bathroom came into veiw. Keleki helped to take her clothes off before turning on the tap, waiting for the water to warm up. Liliana hummed to a tune as Keleki brushed her hair. This was a everyday routine for him. Taking care of Liliana everyday. Yes - He dropped out of college to look after his sister since their father couldn't stand to be in the same room as her since he looked alot like their mother. Everyone thought he got a girl knocked up since they see him with Liliana a lot - But really, the little girl is actually his sister. He's not the type to do that. "Lili hop in now," Keleki helped Liliana into the bathroom helping her wash her hair before stepping back making her do all the work but he kept a closed eye on her incase she falls or shampoo went in her eyes. As she washed herself, he looked into the mirror. Liliana stared at her brother with a frown through the glass window wondering why he had a sad expression on his face. "Leki, i'm done." She yelled. Keleki snapped out of it and walked twoards the door, opening it, grabbing a towel from the rack, wrapping it around her small frame and picking her out. She giggled showing of her two missing front teeth. Keleki pulled his tongue as she squirmed in his arms. As they entered her room he set her on the bed walking towards her wardrobe to grab her clothes. Liliana sighed silently as the cold air smakced against her small bare legs. Keleki hissed as his toe bump into the small hard coffee table placed against her dressing table. She snickered. "Lili don't place the coffee table against your dressing table," Keleki shook his head at her as she giggled slightly. She changed in her underwear as Keleki rummaged through her closet looking for her robe. Yes robe. Sure it's the afternoon but it is really cold there in Kryton Town. The sky looked dark and gray outside and Keleki was grateful that the kids had their trainings cancelled. As Liliana slipped on her robe, the headed to the kitchen where the boys were enjoying a bowl of chips. "Lili, here." Kenai moved a bowl of chips to her as Keleki placed her on the stool. "Thank you!" Liliana smiled. It was quiet. The only sound you could hear was the pelting of the rain against the roof and the breathing of Mose. "Mose stop breathing," Kenai said annoyed at Mose. Mose rolled his eyes. Liliana laughed quietly as the two twins bickered over Mose's breathing while Tavita sat there an annoyed look on his face as he grumling ate his chip shaking his head. Kenai smirked and looked at Liliana, a michievious glint in his eyes as she laughed. Mose knew what his twin brother was doing and laughed evily. Liliana's eyes widen as the two hopped from their seat, making their way to her side. She went to scream when Kenai tickled her so hard she almost lost her balance on the stool. Luckily Mose held the chair and ulled his back, laughing as she thrashed against Kenai's hands tickling her ribs. Keleki wiped his hands with the towel and smiled lazily as Kenai continued with his attacks. All of a sudden Liliana screamed. "MAMA!" The room went quiet. Keleki's eyes widen as he held the towel between his hands. Kenai frozed his hands midair. Mose frozed still holding the chair, staring at his twin brother wided eye whereas Tavita had his mouth opened a chip in his that is frozen midair. Liliana breathed heavily as she clenched her eyes shut. As she opened her eyes she noticed that the astmosphere changed. The boys had their heads bowed down. Gone was the happy faces now replaced with sad depressed ones. "Oh erm," Kenai shifted awkwardly as he backed away from the chair going back to his seat. Liliana frowned as Mose moved as well. Her lips pluckered out as the twins avoided eye contact with her as they continued to eat. She thought that she smelt bad again, so she checked herself causing Tavita to give her a small smile, a chuckle escaping hsi lips. Keleki cleared his throat. "Liliana," Liliana looked at him. Tears streamed down his face as she stared at him. Her lips was pulled into a frown as she hopped off the stool walking up to him her arms held out. He chuckled and picked her up kissing her cheek. "Leki," She whispered her big eyes looking into his brown eyes he inherited from their father. "Mama? Where?" Keleki sighed sadly and smiled at her. "She's in there." She scrunched her face in confusion. Keleki smiled before pointing at her chest. Tavita smiled and walked to Keleki's side rubbing her legs giving her a sad smile. Liliana pulled a duckface. Tavita giggled. "Heaven." Tavita mouthed pointing to the sky. "With God?" Liliana asked a small sad smile on her face that she never got to meet her mother. Tavita nodded a grin forming on his face. Keleki laughed quietly. The twins quietly came behind her and hugged her apologizing quietly as she whacked their heads with the towel.' Liliana smiled and looked towards the sky remembering what Tavita said. Where ever she went out, she always looked towards the sky knowing that her mother is up there watching over her and her brothers. She got to the alleyway and took a deep breath. "KIll me now," She grumbled as she placed a foot in the dark cold place. She rubbed her arms to keep warm as she walked. A mouse ran past her causing her to squeal, jumping up holding her hands flat infront of her face. "Bloody mouse," She muttered narrowing her eyes stomping her foot childishly on the concrete. She huffed silently and crossed her arms carrying on walking. The alleyway was a long one. A long and scary one. Rumour has it that a girl died down here and if you walk at night her spirit will hunt you down. Of course Liliana doesn't believe it. It's a just something to scare off the kids and adults if they were ever to walk through. That is why some people take the shortcut or walk around - which takes for ages. As she neared the middle, figure emerged from the bushes. The wore dark clothing so Liliana couldn't relly see their faces in the dark alleyway. The all stood in a line blocking the entrance of the alleyway. Liliana's breath stopped as she came to a halt. She gulped nervously. There were six of them standing, there arms crossed against their bulky form. "Oh s**t," She muttered to herself holding her coat tight to her body as she stared at the figures. She could tell they're all staring at her. She went to turn around when another six bulky forms emerged form the bushes. They stood in the same from as the others on the other side. Fear crept up her spine as she realised she is trapped. One against twelve is a big no no. She would get crushed by those bulky guys. Her heartbeat began beating erratically as the twelve bulky forms stood there not saying anything just staring at her. It was quiet. The only thing you could hear was the sound of Liliana's breathing. All of a sudden another figure emerged. It was just only one. This figure was different though. He wasn't bulky like those other figures. Sure he had the muscles and stuff but he wasn't that bulky. Liliana furrowed her brows. He conversed with one of the bulky men quietly. Liliana closed her eyes sending a prayer out to the Lord. She opened them at the same time the bulky men pulled his hoodie down. Her eyes widen in realization. She gasped quietly. "Brock," She whispered staring at him, her eyes filled with betrayal, confusion and anger. Brock gave her a blank stare as the figure whispered words in his ear. Liliana stared at him in disbelief. Brock was a great friend of her cousin. Her cousin trusted him a lot. But when he hears about what's he done, he'll never forgive him. Heck no one will. Liliana felt tears threatening to spill but she held them back giving a glare to Brock who still showed no emotion on his face. "Make sure no ones comes in," Liliana's eyes widen. "That voice," She whispered her eyes widening in recognition. Sweat trickled down her spine as she panicked. The figure turned around pulling off his hoodie. Liliana gasped. There standing infront of her was the man - The man she thought she loved, the man who she had dreams about, the man who made her weak in the knee, the man who gave her nightmares, the man who cheated on her. She furrowed her brows in confusion. She wondered how he knew where she lived or where she moved to. No one from Dale Town knew where she was going. They assumed she was moving to Italy - The birthplace of her father. "Micah," She mumbled. A smirk crept on his face. Liliana wanted to wipe it off and slap him but he was too scary. Last time she saw him he looked innocent but right now he looked like a pyshco. A pyshco that kills people. Yes, she witnessed him killing an innocent woman in front of her eyes. It was a memory she wanted to erase forever. Seeing that woman's cries and pleads made her clench her fists. She could have helped but she was just too shocked to move. "You look beautiful," He said speaking in his deep voice. Liliana would have been fangirling over his deep voice but right she wasn't. She had no feels for him. The butterflies and fireworks - They weren't there. They left the moment she saw him cheat. It's been three years since she last saw him. She regretted ever dating him. She thought the rumours were false, turns out they weren't. She was just too blind. A blind sixteen-year-old. Yes - She dated him when she was just 16. No one knew. Not even the twins. They would have her head. "What do you want Micah?" She asked turning to face him. His black hair was swept to the side as a small strand of hair was curled in front of his forehead making him look like a model. Most girls would be drooling over this guy. He had the looks. His brown eyes would make you get lost in them forever. Even the body. He looked like the next Diego Barrueco. Except Diego is way hotter than the fella. Liliana mentally smiled at her thoughts. Micah walked slowly towards her as she stood there staring at him while clenching her fists. "I want you." He whispered. Liliana scoffed. "Cut the bull Micah, why you here?" Liliana huffed crossing her arms over her chest. Micah laughed shaking his head. "Fiesty." He muttered smirking. "I want you, Liliana, I miss you." Liliana rolled her eyes. "Don't lie to me Micah, you don't." Micah rolled his eyes, giving her a blank face. Liliana gritted her teeth in annoyance. She wanted to leave right now - Too bad those assholes were blocking both entrances. "I do Lili, I sw-" Liliana glared at him interrupting him. "Don't call me that." She hissed as he stopped about three metres in front of her. Micah crossed his arms smirking at her. "Still the stubborn one I see." Liliana gulped silently. She is scared as s**t. She feels like she's about to piss her pants due to Micah's gaze burning into her face. Micah laughed out loud. A laugh with no humour in it. Liliana breathed heavily as he slapped a hand over his chest laughing. "Lili, babe-" Liliana snapped at him. "Don't call me babe or Lili, it's Liliana to you Micah Fernando." Liliana clamped her mouth shut and realized her mistake. She used his whole full name. Micah clenched his jaw and gave her a hard look. Then he laughed. Laughed with no trace of humour in it. Liliana stepped back and his eyes narrowed at her. "Don't even Liliana." He spat walking towards her. He grabbed her roughly making her stumble into him hitting her head against his strong chest. Liliana gasped and yelped. She squirmed against him as she tried to get out of his tight grip. "Micah let go." She hissed. "I'll call the cops Micah." She finally pushed him away hugging herself. Micah smirked waving her phone in the ear. "Go ahead." Liliana groaned and went to reach when all of a sudden he threw her phone on the ground. The phone was smashed into small pieces as Liliana bend down. She glared at Micah looking down at the broken smashed phone. "How dare you," She whispered. "Liliana come with me." He bent down grabbing her chin. Liliana furiously shook her head and moved her face away from his hands. Micah rolled his eyes and held her jaw again. This time roughly. Liliana whimpered in pain. Her jaw will sure be bruised. "Come with me now." He commanded. Liliana cried in pain. She shook her head. Micah chuckled before giving her a cold face. "Okay well then," He roughly smashed his lips to hers. Liliana's eyes widen as he held her against his body stopping her from escaping. "Mi-mi-mic-mic-mi-muuuu." Her voice was muffled by his rough kisses. Micah groaned in her mouth. Liliana felt disgusted. Then she bit hard on his lip and kicked his stomach as he let her go. Micah stumbled back holding his stomach. "What the f**k," Footsteps approached them but Micah held a hand up. Liliana breathed heavily. A slap was heard. Liliana's eyes widen as she hit the ground. She held her cheek looking up at Micah with wide eyes fear to swirl around them. Micah spat at the ground wiping his mouth. "Micah please don-" Micah snapped and lunged at her pulling her hair. "Shut the f**k up Liliana." He growled as he slammed her body on the hard concrete ground, breaking some of her bones. Liliana whimpered in pain holding the side of her body. Micah hovered over her and attacked her neck with kisses. Liliana screamed. "Micah stop please!" She cried out. She looked to the side to see Brock's back facing them. The smell of cigarettes hit her nostrils and she knew that they were taking a smoke and looking away from the scene that was about to happen. She cried. Tears streamed down her face. Hands roughly grabbed her clothes and ripped them off. Liliana gasped as a gush of cold air smacked against her skin that was exposed. "Micah no please!" She cried as he ripped off her dress. Micah shook his head giving her an evil smirk. Liliana closed her eyes while tears streamed down her cheeks. "This is what you get Liliana," He whispered caressing her cheek. Liliana sobs loudly as he ran his hands over her body. She wanted to throw up right now. "Now babe this will hurt." Liliana's eyes widen as he ripped off his clothes. Her sobs grew louder. Micah placed her hands beside her head squashing her with his body. He smirked. Pain. All she felt was the pain. She screamed for him to stop but he didn't. He didn't care. He enjoyed it. Liliana screamed so hard. Micah thought it was out of pleasure but really - It was in pain. Liliana clenched her eyes shut as tears rolled down her cheeks like waterfalls. "f**k baby," Micah whispered as he closed his eyes holding her tight against his chest. His grip became tighter on her hair and her sobs grew muffled. She saw stars and blacked out.
