Afternoon

Rae’s point of view             Training had really taken it out of me, and I hadn’t even gotten to the fun stuff yet. Sighing I took the slowest walk home I had ever taken. Looking at the forest line I found my mind wandering the Eli. Was he out there somewhere in Lunar territory? If so, why did he choose to live away from everyone else. I very much wanted to meet him. He was like me after all. The elders said he stayed out of our affairs for the most part. But I just don’t understand why. He is powerful and maybe could have prevented my parent’s death in the war.             I stopped in my tracks. If Eli was indeed powerful he really could have changed the war 5 years back. I felt my cheeks flush with anger and I realized Eli had left us to die, the whole town including my parents. He should have stepped up and fought with the warriors. The war could have easily been cut in half. I will not turn my back on my kind like him. I will use my power to protect everyone I love during the next war; I am sure one is not too far off. I will train as hard as I can with the rest of the Stonebrook warriors.             Walking again with renewed determination I realized the one thing that Eli could help me with that no one else in the village could. The one thing that made us the same. The ability to control two powers at once. I already figured out that it’s easier to assign different hands to each power but I wonder what other tricks he might know. Would he be willing to teach me? Would I listen to him even knowing he left us when we needed him? Could I even find him? Should I even risk going into Lunar territory? He could be long gone for all I know. I could potentially start a war if I ran into any werewolves while trying to find him. Was it worth it?             Yes. Yes, it was worth it. We were on a brink of a war anyways; I could just feel it. People were getting restless just waiting for the last straw of peace to break. I would go look for him this weekend when there was no training. I think my brother was working an extra shift at the hospital this weekend as well so it would work out perfectly. I nodded to myself a plan already forming. I would be as careful as I could to not get caught by the werewolves sniffing around their territory. Michael’s point of view Scott, Steve, Darren, Mel and I were back gathered around the table in my office. Steve and Darren hadn’t had enough time to complete their mission but I had finished collecting information on my end. “Alright guys, here is what I found out.” I took a deep breath and continued. “I called the Alpha of the Crescent pack and the Alpha of the Solar pack. They are the two closet packs to us. Neither of them are being attacked by rogues and no nothing about the rouges attacking us. What that tells us it that these rouges, or whoever they are, are specifically targeting us. What I don’t know is why.” Darren, “I might have a guess on that one. Most the rouges that enter our territory seem to being heading in one direction, towards Stonebrook.” Steve, “We haven’t caught a glimpse of the dual caster yet but my guess is she is real. If the rouges are going towards Stonebrook they might be trying to get to her.” Scott nodded, “That makes some sense. She is powerful and would be considered a threat to any werewolf.” Mel, “That’s not the only reason someone might go after her. She is quite rare and rare equals money on the black market.” Leave it to Mel to surprise me. I hadn’t even thought of that angle, “So we have two possible motives for werewolves to go after her. One to neutralize a threat and the other greed. But there is a third one, power. If one could get her on their side she would be a great weapon, especially if she controls both water and fire.” The room fell silent as people thought over a witch being the target. Steve broke in, “So what are we going to do? If she is the target for whatever reason the rouges are still cross our lands to get to Stonebrook even if their goal isn’t us.” I nodded, “That is a problem. If things weren’t so dicey between the witch’s village and us I would say enlist their help to deal with the rouges. But, I doubt that would go over well. For now, the newest warriors are almost ready and Mel will train them well from what I saw today. I will pick up some extra patrols myself until we can get the new warriors in the field.” Mel smiled, “Thank you, Alpha. You won’t be running those patrols too long. I think they will be able to cover at least some of the day time patrols by the end of next week.” Darren, “Steve and I will continue to find out what we can about this dual caster and try to feel out if there is any hope in a partnership with the witches. After all, it looks like it will be to protect their own. But even if they agree I doubt our pack members would want to fight side by side with them or vice versa.” “No probably not, there is still a lot of bad blood between us even with the peace having lasted 5 years now. Nonetheless, I will see if I can gather any more information about the rouges and see if they might be working for someone. Steve, Darren, try to take in a rouge alive as our prisoner. I would like to question them. If whoever is in charge of these attacks end up wanting the dual caster as a weapon, that weapon might be aimed at us. Best we stay as informed as possible.”
