Pack House

Michael’s point of view             I ran up the steps to Lunar Castle. Racing to my office I mind linked my top pack members; Scott, Steve, Darren, and Mel to meet me there. I wanted to keep the meeting small until I figured out what to do about this new threat. Scott was my Beta and I trusted him with everything. Mel I had grown up with and trained side by. When we were little she used to beat me in a fight but I easily beat her now. Steven and Darren I hoped were back from patrols. If not others can replace them and they would be here soon.             I opened the door to see Scott already waiting for me. I gestured to the small round table on the opposite side of the room from my desk. He took a seat. I took mine right as Mel entered. Her blonde hair flowing gracefully behind her trailing over the top of her butt cheeks framing them perfectly. Her slender waist framed with a belt holding a dagger. She was fierce and beautiful. I had considered taking her as my Luna before, but as beautiful as she is I didn’t feel drawn to her as I would a mate. She was my friend and nothing more. She plopped down into her seat and waited to hear what’s going on. I stared at her and Scott not saying a word, gathering my thoughts as we waited for Steven and Darren.             They arrived after a few minutes covered in sweat from patrols. They collapsed into their seats taking in the serious atmosphere. Everyone was looking at me and waiting expectantly. I hardly ever called emergency meetings and they knew something big must have a happened.  I took a deep breath, “We have a problem, … there is rumor going around that a witch in Stonebrook displayed 2 colors at her ceremony, not just one. I do not know for sure yet but if she took on 2 colors she might possess 2 powers. On top of that, there is tale of her eyes being two different colors as well. Which if true means she is very powerful indeed and a threat to us.” Darren was the first to speak, “Where did you hear this rumor?” “In the market, today, a little boy was very excited about it.” “Did you see her yourself though? It could just be a fairy tale the kids are telling” “No, I didn’t see her, but it didn’t sound like a story.” “Okay, Alpha. It just seems unlikely that the tiny witch village would have a dual caster and a powerful one at that. They fought against us with strength in the past that is true but it was never with extraordinary power and we weakened their numbers in the last war just like they weakened us.” “Even so, I do not want to underestimate them. Darren and Steven you will investigate into the matter and see if there is any truth to it. Just don’t get close enough to the witch village that it would cause another war. Don’t tell the others yet either, I want to learn some more about this before alerting the pack. And if it is true we need a plan. Steven and Darren at once, “Yes, Alpha.” “Now if there is really a powerful witch so close to our home, what do we do?” Mel piped in, “Did you hear what two colors her eyes were?” “Red and Blue. So Fire and Water, two very dangerous powers that can definitely be used as weapons.” Scott who had been unusual quiet, “Do you think the witches will start a war now that they have a powerful witch on their side?” “That is what I would like to avoid.” Mel, “The easiest way to avoid that is to take away their weapon so they don’t feel like they would win. We haven’t threatened them and we have been trying to keep the rouges out of their territory as well.”             “But how do we prevent them from using her as a weapon? If we kill her that will surely start a war.”             Mel, “Maybe, but if a war is going to start anyways killing her before it starts will save lives. They will probably attack either way now.”             Scott spoke up at this point, “The last war, even without a powerful witch on the board, took too many lives of our pack and the witches. Let’s try to come up with a plan that doesn’t end in blood shed, Mel.” Scott finished his sentence glaring straight at Mel.             “Fine.”, Mel sighed she slouched down in her chair. Darren, “Let’s not focus on the dual caster too much. We can’t wipe her out without starting a war but we can focus on things that will prevent a war. Steve and I just came in from patrols. The rouge attacks are becoming more frequent. We need to figure out their goal and prevent them from getting close to the Stonebrook.” Steve, “You are right, they are coming into our territory to often to be normal rouges. We see multiple rouges a week now versus the occasional one every now and then that we used to. It is almost as if they are working for someone or looking for something. Who and what though, is the question.” I nodded, “I will call the Alphas a few nearby packs we have peace agreements with and see if they know anything or if they are being attacked as well. Steve and Darren see what you can find out about the witch and keep me updated on the rouge situation.” Mel, “What about me? I want to help.” I smiled at her, “I am putting you in charge of training the pack members while Steve and Darren focus on the Rouges. You used to beat me in sparring so I am sure you are up to the task.” She stuck her tongue out, “Used to Alpha? We haven’t sparred recently, why don’t you join training tomorrow and see if your statement still holds true. You might be in for a surprise” “Alright, it has been a bit since I stopped in to train with our newer fighters. I will gladly come by and do a demonstration with you for them.” With that I stood up signifying that we were done for now. Addressing everyone, “Let’s meet tomorrow afternoon. I should have an update from the other Alphas by then.” Everyone nodded filing out of the room.
