Chapter 6     RILEY shook her head. “You don’t like how it feels now, do you?”     Jace looked at her. “No, of course not.  It disgusts me.” He sighed heavily. He hated this feeling, like he was laid bare and stripped of his protective walls. Stripped of his flesh.  There was only one other time in his life he’d felt like this, and it was an event he didn’t care to remember.  “During my tours, I knew what was expected of me. That some kills were necessary. But killing Lazarus was not a necessary kill. I could have subdued him, gotten him arrested. But I didn’t. I killed him. Wanted him dead.”     Again, Riley was shaking her head. “So you wanted him dead. So what?
