“DON’T listen to him,” Damien said, his stubbled face grinning. “I ain’t ugly.” He took Riley’s hand and shook it. “I’m actually very good looking.”
“That’s debatable,” Gabrielle mumbled under her breath.
“I was about to say he should speak for himself,” Colt said. “And for God’s sake, Damien, quit drooling over the lady.”
Okay, that did it. Riley let out a laugh, happy to have some normalcy for the moment. She needed to laugh. Needed to feel.
Jace started talking as he walked over to Riley, his arm snaking around her waist. “Yeah, pal, no drool. This Lady is spoken for.”
