JORDAN eyed Jace as he came down the stairs. “You two finished?”
Jace’s brows raised.
“And did you notice if the curtain was still drawn?” Jordan teased.
Jace grinned back, knowing it would have been worse had the door not been shut. “Too busy to pay attention,” he replied sarcastically. Then, he flipped his brother off.
Jordan laughed. After a moment, he asked, “Is she okay?” He put a hand on Jace’s shoulder “She was pretty upset.”
Jace rubbed his neck “Yeah. She’s asleep now. Maybe if she rests a bit...” He wanted to stay with her. But he had a job to do. He needed to find out if there was any update on the case. Needed to find out if they had a lead on where Gemma was.
