CHAPTER 1
''Wake up Anna. Oh Jesus, this girl'' A voice grumbled as someone pulled off the sheets and Anna winced as the morning light hit her face. ''Grannu let me sleep, just another 5 minutes'' She pulled the sheets over her head, shielding her eyes from the piercing sunlight coming from the window. The old lady huffed and smacked her butt as Anna groaned and shifted under the covers, showing no signs of getting out of it. "You're going to be late for work." A hand came out from under the sheets, pointing up all five fingers. "Just five minutes." Anna mumbled through hoarse voice and quickly slipped her hand back in. ''Its 8:30 already'' the lady folded her hands across her chest. ''WHAT???'' Anna jumped out of her bed, sprinting across the old lady and hurried into the bathroom as her Grandmother stood there chuckling at her. ''This girl is unbelievable'' she murmured before leaving. After a couple of minutes, Anna came out with a towel around her head and another around her body as she rummaged through her closet to find something to wear. She took out a grey t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans while threw on a shirt before quickly drying her shoulder length hair with a towel. At least it dries faster. ''Gosh, I am gonna be late today. s**t, I am already late.'' she mumbled while turning around to look at the wall clock but when she glanced at it, she froze and stood there blankly staring at it. "What the- GRANNUUU" She screeched as she stormed out of her room fiddling with the zipper of her jeans and into the kitchen where her Grandmother was making her coffee and some eggs with Bacon. "What the hell Grannu. You said it was past 8:30" she frowned pointing at the wall clock displaying 7:15. Her Grandmother just giggled "If I did not say that , your lazy ass wouldn't have been here all ready and set, would it?" The old lady raised a brow. She just stared at her for some time and finally both of them burst out into laughter. Does every grandmother in every house do this?, She quietly wondered. Anna sat at the kitchen table and had her breakfast all the while scrolling through her social media and checking for messages. Finishing her breakfast quickly, she slipped the phone in her jeans pocket and swing her bag over her shoulders as she kissed her Grandmother on the cheeks and left the house. The coffee shop was not so far from her house since it was previously owned by her mother and now herself. Walking through the chilly street, the mid April cold breeze welcomed her with open arms. "Damn, I forgot my jacket" she mumbled through slightly trembling lips as she hugged herself and rubbed her arms to warm up a little. It was too cool, the whether seemed pretty okay yesterday. In another ten minutes she was standing in front of the coffee shop foraging through her bag for the keys. Finally inserting the keys into the keyhole, she opened the doors and was immediately welcomed by the jingling sound of the silver wind-chime above the door. She smiled and turned the sign board on the door displaying 'OPEN' before walking around the counter and placing her bag on the counter. The clock above the counter said 7:45am as she sighed thinking about the nightmare she had last night about her parents. She saw their bodies laying inside the car covered in blood. It was almost a year since her parent's death in a car crash. They found their lifeless bodies holding hands inside the upside-down car. Her parents were very loving and her being the only daughter was pampered a lot. She was always very gentle and polite with everyone just like her mother. She even inherited her hazel brown eyes and recalled how many times her father used to complain that she had nothing common with him which was not true. Anna believed had the manners and values of her father, always respectfully and kind to anyone and everyone. Not everyone is like that, is it? Her Father owned a small transport business which was then taken over by his sister, Elora. She wasn't any ruthless Aunts that we see in drama's instead the opposite. At the age of 30, she was single but independent women who was able to overcome the death of her beloved brother and his wife and take over the business. She treated Anna very well, like her own daughter and had also asked her to move in with her Grandmother but Anna refused politely saying she would want to live in her house where there were memories of her childhood and parents. She respected Anna's decision but would always pay her a visit whenever she had a day off at work. Since she lived alone, it seemed like she liked spending time with Anna. Anna was lost in her thoughts when the jingling echoed in the empty shop making it sound louder than usual as her eyes drifted to the door. Hope walked in with a wide smile spread on her lips as usual which was enough to pull Anna back from her sad thoughts about the past. Anna stood up and smiled at Hope as they both hugged each other. "Good Morning Ms. Smith" Hope beamed. "Good morning Hope and please don't call me that, it's Anna. You make me sound old." they both chuckled. Hope was in her late 30's and a close friend of Anna's mother. She worked in the coffee shop ever since her mother started her business. Hope has worked for them for almost 10 years and she was way more like a family to them. "I'll go get changed" Hope smiled as she left for the staff's changing room. By the time it was 8:20, all the staff had arrived and the tables and chairs were arranged. All was set to start a fresh new day at the coffee shop when the jingling sound filled Anna's ears which indicated the arrival of a customer but when she looked up , her eyes widened. "Oh My-
