Chapter 8 The sound of passing cars drifted from Ally’s ears as she walked into her office building. She made her way to the elevator, stepping inside the empty car before pressing the button for the seventh floor. As the doors closed behind her, she stared at the mirror covering the back portion of the car. The bags under her eyes didn’t surprise her considering she’d spent the entire weekend in tears. The more she thought about what happened at Jonah’s suite, the more she wanted to crawl under a rock. He seemed sincere when they spoke about the past.
