Jonah approached Kendall right before he left. She grinned at him.
“What's up, Jonah?” she asked. “I hope you had a great holiday.”
“I know you did,” he told her. “Why didn't you tell me that my best friend was your girlfriend?”
“With all due respect, Jonah, it wasn't any of your business,” said Kendall as she grabbed her satchel. “I'm in a relationship with Reena, not you. Got me?”
Jonah could respect that. “Got you. You think Reynolda is going to be a hassle this semester?”
