CHAPTER ONE
“Rise and shine, sleepy head”. His aunt walked inside his room without his permission. This wasn’t new to him because she did this every day or maybe for as long as he could remember. And she always walks in with the same words every time. And he’s never asleep when she comes. Just like every other day, he was in front of his mirror checking out his arbs. He’s very proud of his body. So that was his daily routine. She immediately had a disappointed look on her face when she sighted Becky with him. He knew his aunt strongly disapproved of his girlfriend but he loved her and that’s all that mattered. “I didn’t know she was here. I shouldn't come in, sorry”. She rolled her eyes as she walked out of his room. “When would she ever like me?” Becky pouted with a sour look on her face. He sighed and walked to her. He scooped her into his arms with a soothing smile on his face. “Give her time cupcake. With time she'll learn to accept you just as I am”. He pecked her lips and off he went to his beloved mirror. Becky means a lot to him and it’s sad his family doesn't seem to want her with him. If not for Becky, he’d be dead by now. She had risked her life just to save him and he owes her for that. He has promised to shower her with all his love and make sure his aunt accepts her willingly into the family. “I don’t think so. It’s been two years and she still dislikes me. I still don’t get why she has to approve of me before we can get married. It isn’t like she’s the one paying for the wedding”, Becky complained in a painful tone. No one needs a soothsayer to tell you she doesn’t like the delay. “Why are you in a hurry babe? We'll get married. All we need now is time. And with that we’d tie the knot and that’s it. We’d move to our very own house just like you’ve always wanted and our family would be complete. Patient my cupcake, everything will be alright”, he said, giving her a reassuring smile. Becky bites her lips painfully cussing within her. “I think I should get going now” She said, taking her bag from the bed. She puts on her shoes and walks out of the room, ignoring Tim who was trying to pacify her. He sighed and went to have his bath. He had a lot to do at the office and he knew she’d come back on her own will when she was fine. He’s not ready for marriage yet and nobody is going to force him, so he just has to keep coming up with excuses using his aunt as a bait. Three hours later, he was already in his office. His head bent over a lot of files as he went through them thoroughly. He was confused. Before he left the office last night, these same files had a lot of errors he was planning on coming to fix today. But now, all the data has been corrected and neatly placed on his desk. Who’d have dared enter his office and touch his things? Though the work was done to perfection, it’s still a risk. What if his rivals get their hands on it? He really needs to get to the root of all of this. He took his telephone, punched some buttons and placed it on his ears. A voice is heard from the other end of the call. A male voice. “Did you touch the files on my desk? “Then who did? “You didn’t inform me you'd gotten someone to take the position of my secretary. Send her in!” He commanded and dropped the call without an answer from his second in command. He was the one who requested a new secretary after Becky fired the last one because she was too curvy. His workload was piling up and he needed help before he broke down. But he didn’t expect the new secretary to be this efficient. She did a forty-eight hours job one morning. Now he was really curious to meet this girl. A soft knock interrupted his thoughts. He cleared his throat a little and ushered whoever in. A small petite looking girl? Woman? Walked in with her head facing the floor. “I didn’t know the floor was the one who hired you. Not even a good morning. What a way to make a first impression”, he said coldly, scanning her from head to toe. She doesn’t look that important, more like an average person. She doesn’t even have a good shape or wore nice clothes. He could tell she was way, way below him and he hated her for that. She slowly raised up her head, looking very nervous. Her two hands locked together nervously. She bowed slightly before speaking in a tiny voice. “Good morning sir. He felt irritated by her lack of confidence and wanted her out of his office immediately. Not only his office, but also his company. But he has to have a good reason to fire her or it might cause some problems. “Where are you the one who corrected the data of these documents?” He inquired with a bored tone. “Yes sir. I did”, She replied with a slightly trembling voice. “Who told you you could touch those documents? Do you know how confidential and important they’re?!” He raised his voice at her. She flinched back in fright, shaking nervously. “I'm sorry sir. But Mr Lee said they were my tests. He said if I can seek them out before you get back that the job is officially mine”, she responded. Her face was back to facing the floor. “Does Mr Lee look like your boss?!” He snapped and she shook her head hurriedly in response. “You know what? I don’t even care, you’re fired. Now get out.
