The Russo Family?

1063 Words
The marriage registration process didn’t take long, and Cecil had become Mrs. Russo in a matter of minutes. It was official. A new life had started for her. When it was time to leave, Gabriel Russo personally drove Cecil to her new home. On their way there, Cecil was looking forward to a crowd of people waiting to greet them and for the marriage dinner party to start, little did she know that Gabriel Russo was going to keep her hidden. “Is this your house? I thought there was a dinner party to attend,” Cecil asked Gabriel Russo when they arrived at a beach house in a secluded part of town. “The dinner party is for my family alone. Don’t worry, you’ll get to meet them eventually,” Gabriel Russo said with a sturdy tone. Cecil didn’t understand why it seemed like she was being hidden. It was not as if Gabriel Russo was such a wealthy and influential man or something. He was just a handsome man who managed an average company in the city and lived an average life. So, why was he hiding her? Without saying anything, Cecil got out of the car and waited for Gabriel Russo to show her in. It was not until they got inside that Gabriel noticed that Cecil didn’t take so many clothes with her. There was no way all her clothes would fit into that little bag she took out of the trunk of the car. What was her plan? To wear and wash and repeat clothes every day? Gabriel Russo frowned at that. After Gabriel Russo showed Cecil into the house, he started to leave. The house was not big at all. It was a regular average three-bedroom apartment that looked good and also looked like it had not been lived in for a long time. It looked like the house had not been lived in at all. Why? [How long have you been living here?] [I’ll just be a couple of minutes outside...] Cecil and Gabriel Russo said in unison. Gabriel stopped in his tracks when he heard what Cecil said, and Cecil also paused. “It’s a new house. I bought it as soon as grandma mentioned that you had agreed to get married to me,” Gabriel Russo replied, and without wasting time hearing Cecil’s reply, he left. Cecil heaved a deep sigh and leaned into the chair she sat on. There was nothing to look at in the house. A five-minute tour of the house had been given to her by Gabriel Russo, so there was nothing new to look at anymore, except, of course, the surroundings. By the time Cecil stepped out of the house to look outside, Gabriel Russo had been gone for a couple of minutes. Cecil observed that the house was in a secluded area from the rest of the houses that were in the same area. Gabriel Russo’s house looked the least attractive, and it was in the most conspicuous spot as much as it was the least luxurious. At a shopping mall perched at a corner of a luxurious estate in the city, Gabriel Russo got in as he called for assistance as soon as he stepped inside the mall. “Look at this picture. I want you to dole out all the best clothes that fit this woman’s size. Can you tell her size just by looking at the picture?’’ Gabriel Russo asked the sales clerk. The woman nodded. ‘’Yes. Yes, Mr. Russo. I know her size. I’ll fetch the best for her,’’ the salesclerk replied. As soon as she said that, she hurried out of Gabriel Russo’s presence. Every other person in the store made sure to concentrate on the work that faced them. Their boss, the owner of the Chevert Mall, had unexpectedly made an appearance at the mall, and all the employees were taken unawares. The first time Gabriel Russo stepped into the mall, everyone scampered away to their positions. It was such a frenzy. It was as if they were being pursued by a ghost. Gabriel Russo noticed it, but as he walked in, he maintained a gracious countenance and was determined not to acknowledge the idiosyncrasies of his employees. He could not be bothered by them. By the time Gabriel Russo returned home, Cecil had changed into one of the clothes she had brought from her former home. Gabriel Russo secretly frowned when he walked in to see Cecil dressed in cheap clothing. His stomach churned. It didn’t matter if he had gotten married to Cecil just to please his grandmother, but she was now his wife and his wife was a representation of him. ‘'Gabriel!’’ Cecil muttered when she saw that tall and handsome man with a somewhat subtly intense aura enter the house. ‘'Take these. I got them for you. I saw you didn’t carry so many clothes. So, you can have these and do away with your old ones,’’ Gabriel Russo said and handed the clothes over to Cecil. ‘’Thank you,’’ Cecil replied and took the clothes from Gabriel nonchalantly. She assumed that they were just regular clothes. ‘’Get dressed in one of the gowns I bought. Grandma insists that you attend dinner with me. She says that you must meet the family,’’ Gabriel Russo told Cecil. Cecil hurried indoors to get ready. First, she had to take a shower. While Cecil was in the shower, she noticed something a little off. The bathroom was modest in size with not so many amenities in it, like a luxury bathroom, but she noticed that the few amenities in the bathroom, like the bathtub, and the sink were all sparkling...gold? Was it real gold, or was it merely painted that way just to give off a luxurious feel? Cecil was confused. After she took a shower and started to take out the gown she would put on for dinner, Cecil froze. She was staring at a premium designer luxury gown that would cost not less than ten thousand dollars. How could Gabriel Russo afford such an expensive gown? Curious, Cecil took out her phone and started to check the actual price of the gown on the internet, only to find out that the gown cost forty-four thousand dollars, and there was only one piece in the world.
