14. Chapter – Dead end

Evelyn p.o.v.

It was a strange woman with a little girl on her hip. This must be Sophia and Anna.

»Hi. I'm looking for…um…a friend from school.«

»And that would be…?« she looked at me suspicious.

»Umm…«

»Sophia. Who's at the door?« I heard Adam's voice from the inside. And later he showed up at the door too.

»She is just look-« she tried to explain what I was doing here but Adam cut her of when he saw me properly.

»Evelyn? What are you doing here? Everything okay?« I wanted to say something but I couldn't. Dad's words rushing back and the tears came back too. He said something to Sophia who left us alone and we went inside to the living room.

I talled him everything that dad told me yesterday and how I ran off living out the part with William.

And what Adam said next schocked me. He knew. He, Sebastian and Ethan knew. And tried to find me. How it was part of the hunt training to seperate girls and boys in the family.

»But everytime we came close of finding you we came to a dead end. It's like you were there and then when we found you you desepeared.«

»So Jacob and Theo don't know?«

»No. They would found out when you turn 16.«

»Is Sebastian really in the army?«

»No. I refused to join their hunting but Sebastian joined them thinking it would be easier to find you. But he didn't like what they were doing to…them. He also helped them escape and he was busted. I don't know what happened to him after that.«

»He's not dead is he?« Adam's silence was all I needed to know that he believes our brother is dead.
