Meeting the Alpha

606 Words
Stella picked me up at 5pm on Saturday just as she said she would in her white Range Rover. I was excited, as I liked her brother and his mate, Amy. They were a match made in heaven. I hoped one day Stella would get that chance to find her second chance mate. She deserved it. Her first mate had died while saving a pup. Most people would have died when losing their mate, but she was one strong wolf.  The drive to her pack was 45 minutes outside the city. We blasted music the whole way and sang to every song. Like me, she too knew all the words to almost every song that came on the radio.  As we pulled up to her pack you could feel the excitement all around. They had a tent strung with lights that lit up the area. it was absolutely breathtaking. We walked up arms linked and were talking to some of her pack members. I had met some of them before as they did come into town often. As I turned I bumped into her brother, Adam. He had dark hair and blue eyes just like Stella. He was about 5'9 and was very handsome. He had a huge smile on his face and was as happy as I've seen him.  He picked me up and hugged me. "Thank you for coming! I'm sure my sister convinced you to come, but I'm glad you did and I know Amy is happy you could make it too." "No problem. You know you guys are like family to me. Especially your pain in the ass sister," I said as I laughed. "Hey I heard that!" Stella shouted from across the room. "You were meant to!" I shouted back at her. "You two are so much alike it's scary. I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle both of you," her brother said as he laughed. "You won't be doing it alone. Besides who else is going to keep us entertained with their stories," Amy said as she walked up and hugged her mate.  The look they had in their eyes was nothing but pure love and I longed to have something like that in my life. But I knew that would never happen. My track record with men was anything but nice and filled with love.  "We should be walking up to the stage, the alpha will be coming out soon," Amy said as she practically dragged Adam up to the front.  I took a seat in the middle of the pack as to blend into the pack. I know I'm human but i felt like I belonged here for some reason. That was why I had moved to Salt Lake in the first place. I had never been here before this, but it just felt right. As I was lost in my thoughts, the alpha stepped out and everyone started cheering and clapping. I looked up and say the most handsome man I had ever seen in my life. He had jet black hair that was parted to the left side and gelled slightly. He had green eyes and they sparkled with pride as he looked at his beta and his mate. The one thing I noticed was that there was no luna. Stella never talked about it or ever brought it up. I wonder where she is. Again, I got lost in my thoughts until I saw a pair of black shoes in front of me. I looked up to see the alpha staring at me and all I heard was one word, "Mate."
