Chapter 6

1008 Words
(Helena's POV) My mother and I just got home from attending the Sunday mass when we saw a sleek black limousine outside our house. My mom looked at me. "Are you expecting a suitor today, sweetie?" I stay at my shared apartment with the guys near the Uni during weekdays, but I go home here in Jacksonville during weekends to spend some 'quality time' with my mummy. I smiled to myself at the thought. I frowned and shrugged. "No." My mom parked her Ford behind the limo, and we approached the limo just as the driver opened the passenger seat door. A very familiar man stepped out of the limo while I and my mom watch with disbelief. I put my hands over my mouth when I recognized him and before I knew it, my mom is already throwing herself in his arms and kissing him like there is no tomorrow. I watched as my parents kiss passionately in front of me. Normally, I would have gagged at the sight of two grownups making out on the middle of the streets but somehow, the scene makes me teary eyed. There are my parents, separated from each other for more than five years already. I can't ruin their moment, can I? (3rd person's POV) "Where have you been?" Emma asked Josef after they broke the kiss. She held his face between her hands to make sure that he is not a figment of her imagination. He looks more handsome and older but there is no way denying that he is her husband. "I'm so sorry, my darling... I wasn't there when you needed me the most..." He kissed her forehead and then looked at their daughter. "Helena..." His eyes were filled with tears. Helena ran towards his awaiting arms and let him encase her in a bear hug. "Dad... I missed you.." She cried for her dad for the first time in many years. "Shh... I'm here now..." He kissed the top of her head. Emma smiled fondly at them as Josef reach for her hand. "Why don't we go continue this inside? I think that we have a lot of things to say to each other." Josef said and the two women agreed with him. (Vienna's POV) I grit my teeth as I watched Josef reunite with his family. After all these years of staying with him and giving in to his needs, he still chose his drab wife over me. No. I cannot let them take away Josef from me! I was the one who nursed him back to health when his parents called me that they found him almost dead. I was about to open my car's door and confront them when somebody knocked on the passenger's seat window. I frowned when i saw that it is an unfamiliar young man wearing a beanie and sunglasses. My instincts tell me not to open the door because he might be a mugger but then, I'm curious with what he wants. He is even actually good looking in my opinion and I also have a gun which I can use just in case. He grinned widely when I opened the door. He immediately went inside and shut the door. "Who are you?" I raised my brow. "I noticed that you've been here ever since the limo arrived but you never went out of your car so I got curious." He ignored my question. "How are you related to the Blackthorns?" He asked without looking at me. He is holding an Blackberry in his hand and seems to be scrolling through something. I froze. "It's none of your business, boy. You can get out of my car now." "I can help you... Get Mr. Blackthorn and get rid of his wife if you like..." I looked at him with disbelief. "What are you talking about?" "You see, I'm worried because now that Josef Blackthorn has returned, he might bring his whole family to wherever he lives now. I want his daughter for myself and I can't let her go just like that, can I?" He smiled devilishly. "Come on, I know you aren't a saint either. You love him, right?" My head spun with what he is saying. If Emma is dead, then I won't have any problems with her anymore... But then, I am not a killer and I can't just trust a random boy from the streets right? "Think about it, Vienna Haynes." My eyes widened and I stared at him in disbelief. "H-How did you know my name?" "Let's just say that I am doing my research. It's not easy to find information about rich people anyway." He waved his Blackberry and then, started reading from it. "Vienna Haynes. Daughter of businessman, Victor Haynes. 41 years of age. You used to be a model for a famous clothing line. You were dubbed as a party animal during your younger years. Plenty of rumours about abortion and drug usage. Your family almost faced Bankruptcy if it weren't for Blackthorn enterprises. Engaged to Josef Andrei Blackthorn..." He stopped and laughed at the last words. "You are engaged to a married man?! Now that is a huge joke!" I felt my face grow hot at the boy's remark. "We were supposed to be married 21 years ago if it weren't for his b***h of a wife." "Too bad for you, he married her instead." He continued laughing. "You said you are going to help me." I said. He smirked and then nodded. "I did." "Then do it. Help me." I looked at him almost pleadingly. "I need Josef in my life... But I don't know what to do..." He pressed a piece of paper in my hand. "Call me when you're ready." He grinned as he went out of my car. "Wait!" I called out. "Yes?" He raised his brows. "You didn't tell me your name. How will I know if I can truly trust you?" I asked. "You can call me Julian. Julian Ashcroft." And he walked away.
