At ten years old, Dawn Greasley lost the life she knew.

One rainy evening, a devastating car accident claimed two lives and left an entire town searching for someone to blame. The answer came quickly. Mike Greasley, Dawn's father, was arrested, convicted, and sent to prison.

To the people of West Brook, the case was simple. A guilty man had been punished, justice had been served, and the town could move on.

But Dawn never moved on.

For years, she lived under the shadow of the crime. She grew up listening to whispers, enduring judgmental stares, and carrying the burden of being the daughter of a convicted killer.

As the years passed, the damage spread beyond her father's prison cell.

Her mother, unable to cope with the tragedy, retreated into a world of fragmented memories and strange stories. The things she said rarely made sense, and Dawn eventually stopped listening.

Years later, a discovery forces Dawn to look at her father's case differently. Small details that once seemed meaningless begin to stand out. The more she investigates, the more convinced she becomes that the truth was never fully revealed.

What if her father wasn't responsible?

Determined to prove his innocence, Dawn transfers to West Brook High School with a plan. Her target is the Hudson family, one of the most influential families in town. At the center of her suspicions is Adam Hudson, a respected businessman whose name keeps appearing whenever she digs into the events surrounding the accident.

Dawn believes the fastest way to learn the truth is through Adam's daughter, Layla Hudson. Popular, beautiful, and connected to everyone at school, Layla seems like the perfect source of information.

The plan falls apart on her first day.

Instead of meeting Layla, Dawn is paired with Frances Hudson, Adam's daughter from his first marriage. Quiet, thoughtful, and unexpectedly kind, Frances quickly becomes a friend. Dawn never intended to grow close to anyone in the family she came to investigate, yet Frances makes her question her assumptions.

Then an opportunity appears.

During a birthday party at the Hudson residence, Dawn sneaks into Adam Hudson's private office searching for evidence. What should have been a simple operation takes an unexpected turn when she discovers someone else already searching the room.

Danny.

A boy whose life was shattered by the same accident.

The couple who died in the crash were not his biological parents but the foster parents who gave him a home after years in the foster care system. After their deaths, the only family he had left was an older girl from the orphanage who had always protected him. Though they share no blood relation, Danny considers her his aunt.

For years, he trusted her completely.

But as he and Dawn begin investigating together, troubling clues emerge. Records disappear. Witnesses change their stories. Hidden connections surface. Somehow, Danny's aunt appears in the background of far too many discoveries.

Reluctantly, Dawn and Danny join forces.

What begins as a partnership built on suspicion slowly grows into something deeper. Together they follow leads, uncover forgotten records, and challenge long-accepted assumptions. Every answer reveals another mystery, and every breakthrough brings new danger.

Someone knows what really happened.

Someone has spent years protecting the truth.

Meanwhile, Dawn discovers that Frances's family history is far more complicated than anyone realizes, and the role of her mysterious older brother raises troubling questions.

Most shocking of all, Dawn learns that her father may not have been the only person present when the accident occurred.

Her mother was there too.

For years, Dawn dismissed her mother's stories as the ramblings of a broken mind. Now she begins to wonder if those strange conversations contained pieces of the truth all along.

As the pieces begin to fit together, Danny faces a devastating revelation. Evidence suggests that the person responsible for orchestrating the accident may be someone he loves and trusts. His aunt's connection to the crash becomes impossible to ignore. What started as a search for justice becomes a battle between loyalty and truth.

But even that may not be the whole story.

Because the deeper Dawn and Danny dig, the clearer it becomes that the accident was never simply an accident.

People have spent years burying evidence, manipulating investigations, and protecting dangerous secrets. The crash that destroyed their lives may have been only the beginning.

Some lies survive for years.

HELLO DAWN
Chapter 1 Dawn's POV Life has a cruel way of taking everything before you're old enough to understand what you've lost. Some people spend their lives searching for happiness, others spend theirs searching for what was taken from them. What other iconic statements about life do I have. Whatever Life..just sucks And today is just like every other day in my life. She smiled as she jotted somethings down on her note pad "Great improvement" "With the medications and treatment,I can say..Dawn,there's been a great improvement in your mom"s health" My hands on her lap and my eyes were as clear as the sky, this isn't the first time I would hear this "Well...apart from the hallucinations, which I am sure will stop. we are actually still taking it into caution" "Thank you" but my gaze was not on the doctor,it was on my lost looking mom, staring at nothing in particular.. muttering the only words she's been saying for the past few years "He will kill me" and some other gibberish I have decided not to pay attention to,but still secretly inspecting "Anytime Dawn" she walked away but stopped halfway at the doorstep "Dawn" She called and I turned my gaze to her direction "Your mom will be fine" I smiled bitterly, sure she will but certainly not looking like this There is nothing the Doctors can do if she's like this,I turned to my mom.Her eyes felt distant, like nothing in. the physical mattered, she was staring at nothing in particular with her jaw half opened "I hope so Doc" "I pulled her hands and pressed it against my cheeks, could feel her temperature cooling. My name is Dawn Greasley, daughter of a convicted murder Well i'd say alleged cuz I'm so f*****g sure my dad isn't a murderer and my mom is down with a mental disorder. She was diagnosed years back. My family wasn't always like this,It was perfect and the best family I could wish for.Til that faithful evening eight years ago,the loss of two lives at a devastating car accident. The answer was obvious. My dad was arrested, convicted and locked up,it was the perfect punishment for someone who caused an accident, everyone felt it fair except my mom, she slowly restricted into her world and chose fantasy over reality, or so I thought. I never visited my dad in prison,he never wanted to see me but just three months ago, I became his constant visitor. All because of one word I decided to listen to,one whisper that caught me off guard "Your dad.. he was innocent Dawn" My mom said in one of her weird talks. I have always wanted someone on my side,to prove the world wrong,I would go grocery shopping,to the pharmacy even to my workplace to receive only pitiful looks, gossips, people lowering their voices whenever i'm around and not one person has said "Hey,I know your dad isn't a murderer" But hearing it from my mentally derailed mother gave me a little glimpse of hope. Maybe.. just maybe my dad was innocent. I don't know why.. but I believe it. And now,my theory,is just about being Right.I took the last bite of pancakes before dropping it off on my plates as I took one final look at my perfectly arranged investigation board. My eyes fixed on my prime suspect, his name kept popping everywhere.Ofcourse all these theories are useless without any evidence, but I already have my own cute little plan. Adam Hudson,a very influential in West Brook, had some connections to my family. That was all I know...for now and I plan to get more. But how... That I don't know yet I looked at my dad,as he sat right at the other side of the prison bar.i thought in my mind "I won't let you down dad" and I meant that, cuz whosoever is behind framing my dad and destroying my family...will sure have multiple gulps of their own medicine.,That I'm sure is a promise. ★★★ "You are late Dawn, again" "Sorry Joe,I lost tract of time" I grabbed the apron from my boss and swiftly packed my hair in a low bun "I may have to consider reducing your pay, given the fact that I already do most of the work before you come" I smirked cuz I know he can't "What? Today is the only time I was late" "Could happen tomorrow"His voice echoed from behind the counter. Being working for Joe since...forever His place was actually the first I went when I was in need of a job,but I still do not think anyone would accept me if I had gone elsewhere Like..who would employ the daughter of a convicted criminal. My work was simple, make and serve coffee It's a coffee shop,duh.. but we make other things too, pastries, desserts, milkshakes,Bagels,Blueberry Muffins name it,even West Brook Blend..Joe is very industrious He graduated from West Brook high, didn't bother to attend college,he just felt it wasn't for him,he used to work part-time at a coffee shop and was really good at making coffee. Then he opened his own shop and named it after West Brook town, anyone would still think Westbrook café was owned by the government but alas,it's owned by a private individual. And I really love this place. ★★★ Light taps on the coffee bar with girls giggling.I lifted my head from behind the bar "Americano please, with extra ice" Her friends hovering around her "I want Espresso" "I'd like a latte" Their voices "Thanks pretty" She smiled and stormed off with her friends. My day..just got better.I just smiled and made to carry out their order " With extra sugar cubes"she added again and twired her hair. Then that moment I knew what to do and how to do it All I have to do is get close to his popular and high social life daughter "Here you go,Layla" "Thanks Dawn" She smiled sweetly and left with her friends to sit on one of the round tables My eyes followed them to their seat as I twired my lips and smirked
