Dawn's POV
I have never attended a party, not to talk about a Birthday party. So obviously I have no dress that suits any social gathering.Who cares,I am going there only to further my investigation on the Hudson's but my subconscious mind kept telling me
"Dress like trash to Layla Hudson's Birthday party and lose your potential information supplier"
Joe was considerate today when I asked to leave early but not without throwing his cheap tantrums
I sighed and slightly tapped my forehead, absentmindedly doing my thing til the voice broke me off
"Problems?"
"Nah thanks" I wavered off,then I suddenly realized
"Many problems Mia, I have a birthday party to attend but I really don't know and have what to wear" Her stare gave me chills
"Something on my face?" I traced my jawline using my fingers
"No, with you. I didn't know you were a party person" She smiled, her face showing and girl stereotype
"But..no worries,mia got you covered.What time will your shift end"
"6 pm,the party is by 9"
"Mine too,but I've got a sick Grandma,you mind?.All we have to do is get you some clothes and a slight makeover" She rolled her tongue and gave a click with the gum hidden in her mouth.Joe doesn't like his workers chewing gum on duty.
I agreed anyways,Mia is really good with fashion and I really can't go to a girlie party wearing a large round neck shirt and a boyfriend jean.
Mia stayed about twenty minutes longer at the café,her shift came late
"Screw your ass Toms" raised two middle fingers to his face,the later just gave a flirtatious smirk
"Uhh,I hate him"
I cackled the moment she whispered those words to me as we were leaving.Mia and Tom never got along and a good guess is because she thinks anyone and everyone would fall head over hills at first sight but Tom cracked that up the moment he brought up a sarcastic Joke.They've been cat and mice ever since.

I pulled the dress,covering my thigh with my hands.But mia slapped it off
"Don't ruin the pretty dress" She scrolled
"This doesn't suit me really" I pouted
"Of course it suits you,Cream looks very pretty on you" She led me to the mirror like she's trying to convince me really bad
"Besides,you are late for the party.There isn't enough time to try all the dresses" I turned looking at myself in front of the mirror and nod my head slightly,it's not bad,just too short.And the hair is exactly how I love it
"Thanks Mia" I smiled
"You're welcome Dawn,i am so jealous you are Layla's friend"
My smile slowly retreated, I'm not Layla's friend. I am just a pretty girl she thinks she can roll with.
I am Frances'Friend,just happened.I now want to be her friend,I am not someone who goes around clubbing or flirting with guys.And I'm probably sure Frances now sees me as her friend.Its only been a few days but I myself is already kinda attached to her now.

"Wow,isn't the party 9 pm" I kept wondering if I got there late as I looked at the mansion through the wrought iron gate.Then the gate suddenly opened,I drove in.
A sparkling pool stretched across the front yard, reflecting the stars and the golden glow from the house. Poolside loungers surrounded the water, occupied by students laughing, some smooching
"Huh-sorry"
I moved quickly away from them
Music drifted through the cool evening air as I saw some groups gathered across the beautifully landscaped compound.
I instinctively knew Layla would be there
"Ohh,Dawn gracious.You made it" She gave me a warm hug and even laid a peck on my cheeks as I muttered "Happy Birthday Layla"
"Thank you" She blushed when I gave her a small box package
" You are so sweet Dawn,Come let me introduce you to my friends" She walked me along the poolside as we drifted away from her few minutes friends.
Then we went inside,inside the mansion beneath decorative lanterns.Crystal chandeliers bathed the marble floors in soft light. Students filled the spacious rooms, their laughter echoing through the halls. Some mingled around the grand staircase while others relaxed on elegant sofas. The mansion buzzed with life and excitement.Sure I did not expect any less from the Hudson's,one of the most influential in West Brook
"Don't worry, my parents went on a vacation trip" She giggled
"Ah ahh" I asked and nodded slowly,who would have thought my plan would work.I smirked
"Guys meet Dawn,a classmate"
"Hii" I waved,but my eyes still scanning the whole Mansion
"Urgh,where is liam?,He is supposed to be with me.On my big day" She reached for her hone and started dialing
" Huh, Layla can I use the bathroom?"
I whispered and she replied with sure eyes still not avert from her phone
Once she put the phone on her eyes,she added
"Upstairs,by your right" I made to leave,heard her voice echoing when I was almost done beating the stairs
"No one should f**k in my parents room or I would get your asses f****d" Layla's voice thundered
" Holy cows" I held my breath as I gasped. How the hell am I supposed to find Adam Hudson's room in this endless hall
