Draft #1 of Broken Internet Surface
"There's no one I'd rather be... than me!" Vanellope von Schweetz said to herself in the mirror with so much self doubt and despire. Deep breathes, you can do this. Vanellope looks upon herself one last time before turning towards the door. Sugar rush is falling apart.
Vanellope couldn't help but think negativity about the downfall of sugar rush and the uprise of social media. It had seemed to her that ever since wreck it Ralph broke the internet, it hasn't made much improvements to the game, but made it worse.
Noone seems to play the arcade machines anymore.. well not as much as they use to. Kids and teens are more drawn by their small iPhone devices, than appreciate what now is deemed to be vintage and old and this broke Vanellope; more than people could see past the smiles and the laughs.
Though, Vanellope was heart broken with what she went through these past few months; she still was determined to fix what was broken, but how? She didn't know how. She was lost. Confused. Scared. Worried. Concerned. What if this plan of hers failed so bad that the sugar rush was completely closed down for once and for all? She couldn't risk it. Not again. Not now. Not ever. What if I try... thoughts started piling in, but what was she thinking of doing..
Later that evening... Vanellope found herself walking around the app store of the internet, and came across a screen showing a field filled with long grass that was taller than her. She knew for she shouldn't travel unaccompanied between games and the internet surface, incase she glitched, it's been pretty bad recently, to the extent of getting her to get into massive trouble and putting people in dangerous, but she didn't let that stop her...!
A couple moments passed... Vanellope felt warm against the sun that battered on the glass of the ceiling protecting the outside of the internet cell. This is so much better than the current life in the sugar rush. Vanellope thought to herself. She often wish there was more praise spread around sugar rush and this feeling she had grasped was that exact feeling.
Although the sun was making her feel tired and drained, she didn't feel like she could glitched; she felt like it, but couldn't - something stopped her... A FLOATING MIC?!?! Hi Vanellope, I'm here to remind you that everything is going to be okay and that you need to be yourself and let noone hold you back, not even your friends..!
Stange. Vanellope collapsed in a pile and shortly awoke with fix it felix, wreck it ralph and a few others by her side. They all had a panicked expression on their faces which confused Vanellope. When Vanellope asked "what had happened?" Everyone looked at eachother and said in sync, "The internet destroyed you and we can't allow that to happen to you again..."
Vallellope awoke, once more. Reciting everything she that she could remember, but nothing was clear to her; her memory seemed to be fussy with what had happened. It was like, she had... impostor syndrome...? She didn't believe that it was a thing, yet what the people had deemed to see within her.
Throughout the day her mind had wondered what was there to become. You know, you could just stay here and live in the castle. You'd have your own wing where no one would ever complain about your stench or treat you bad ever again. You could be happy. A overwhelming voice closed into her mind. Who said that? Vanellope froze in fear as she looked around; noone was in ear shot of her. Properably nothing to worry about, or so she thought. Wrecked it ralph appeared, scaring her out of her wits, that she ran so far, that she hit the glass and fainted.
