Introduction to independence

Myra woke up the next morning and felt as if a weight was lifted from her shoulders. She woke up with a big smile on her face and went into Emma's room and picked her up and hugged her. Myra then took her to the living room and gave a hug and a kiss to her mom and her dad.

Looking at how happy Myra was her parents couldn't contain their joy. It's been months and months since they saw her so happy. She then told her mother she will take the day off and wishes to take them out shopping and have dinner with them. Myra's parents looked at each other in surprise and agreed.

Myra then got ready and took her parents and Emma out shopping and for dinner and came home in the evening and they were all very happy. Myra's mom offered to put Emma to bed for Myra and she agreed.

Myra then went to her room and after she changed got a glimpse of herself in the mirror and went closer to look as she couldn't believe, the woman she is looking at looked so different than last night, she looks happy and content.

Myra's mother knocked on the door and suddenly she was distracted and her mother looked happy and that made her happy as since she had moved in with them as she was not okay her parents were also sad and it has been a long time since she had a good time with her parents and spent quality time with them and saw them so happy.

Myra then held her mother's hands and kissed her and said, I am so sorry mom, I had been so selfish for the last few years. I am sorry I hurt you guys soo many times. Her mother had a tear gently rolling down her cheek and Myra slowly wiped it out and said don't worry mom, we will be okay and I will be the best daughter, someone who makes u proud. Now that I have Emma and I am a mother, I understand everything. Myra and her mom hugged each other.

Myra's mom was a little hesitant but asked her, if she had thought about their future and said, Myra I know you had been hurt badly by Jake and I am so proud of you for pulling yourself out of everything but, have you given a thought of finding someone? I mean I am not saying right now but, you need to have someone right?like I have your father and it's always good to have a partner to be with through the good and bad times.

Myra got a little upset upon hearing this and said no mom, no man would accept a child from someone else or treat them as their own. Emma is too young and I want her to have my full attention and raising her right is my first priority as I have to make up for two parents.

Mom don't worry about anything and to tell you the truth, it is better this way. I don't think I can stand another person anymore as a life partner and divide my attention, time as it won't be fair to neither Emma nor the guy.

Her mom understood that now was not the right time to try and convince Myra as she could see how happy she was and glowing with confidence and the new found independence. For the first time she saw her daughter to be so sure about the future and her decision. Myra's mother hugged her gently and gave her a kiss on her forehead and said I wish you all the happiness in the world my baby, I am so proud of you and me and your dad love you very much.
