Chapter 24

Eliza POV

What the hell just happened? I was supposed to be the one up there as the future Luna, and that slut stole my position and my man! And how is she even walking? She's supposed to be paralyzed! Ugh, this b***h keeps getting in my way! I’m so frustrated I toss my lamp against my wall. Then my phone begins to ring. I look down to see who is calling and freeze. I slowly pick up my phone and answer.

”Hello?”

”Hey, there's my girl. I need you over here in 15 minutes. See you soon.”

I hang up my phone. And quickly get ready to go. I change my clothes into something I think he will like and hope into my car. I make it right on time. I hesitate before knocking on his door. It takes a few minutes before someone answers. It wasn’t who I was expecting to open the door. I’ve never seen this person before but he creeps me out. He doesn't say a word to me but leads me upstairs to an office. He knocks on the door twice and waits. Finally, a deep voice calls out from behind the door, ”Come in.” The man opens the door for me but stays where he is at.

”Thank you, Niles.” He says, and Niles bows his head and closes the door behind me.

”You are looking as tasty as ever. Come here.”

I slowly walk over to him while he sits at his desk. He swings his chair around and opens his knees to give me space. I walk in between his legs, and he grabs my waist and pulls me to him roughly. He immediately starts to kiss my neck and inhales my scent.

”Mmmmm, you smell and look delicious.”

He slowly slides his hands up my dress to my inner upper thighs. He takes his finger and plays with the edge of my panties close to my core teasingly. Even though he terrifies me I can’t help but be drawn to him. He’s dark and mysterious, and it turns me on. But I never know what side of him I’m going to get. Will I get his aggressive side? Or will he be gentle and sweet with me? I hope it's the latter. I can’t handle his other side.

”How was your day today?” He asks; it looks like it might be his sweet, gentle side tonight.

”It was really rough.”

”Hmmm, why is that?”

I moan out as he slowly presses two fingers into my core as he continues to kiss my neck down to my collarbone. I can’t help but to rock against his hand.

”Because that b***h took what was supposed to be mine!” He stops what he's doing.

”Please… don’t stop.”

”What do you mean took what was yours?”

”I was the one who was supposed to be the Luna to the Opal Moon pack. And now that b***h Christa took my mate and my position.”

”Is she his true mate?”

”Yes, supposedly. That's why he's so set on her being Luna even though she's a stupid human!”

At that, he pulls his fingers away from me and stands up.

”Hey! Why did you stop?”

”Hush”

I immediately shut my mouth, not wanting to upset him.

”Is there something wrong? Did I say something to upset you, Lex?”

”No, on the contrary. You just made me an extremely happy man!”

”Oh?” I ask with my eyebrow quirked, my curiosity peaked.

”May I ask how?”

”You know who Eli’s mate is?”

”Yes?”

”That’s how. I believe you have the means to help me get what I came here for! This is the best gift yet!” He says as he grabs me by the waist and kisses me deeply. Once I am out of breath he releases me. Surprised by his sudden passionate kiss. I feel myself blush and feel a sense of accomplishment for making him happy.

”What do you want with her anyway? What is so f*****g special about her that every guy wants her? Does she have the word slut plastered all over her?”

”Now now, baby, don’t be jealous.” He says, smiling the smile that creeps me out.

”I’m not jealous!” I say rolling my eyes.

”Of course, you're not!” He says chuckling. He grabs me by my waist again and turns me around, and pushes me against his desk, he rips my underwear off of me, and I gasp in surprise. I can feel his breath at the back of my neck as he nibbles on my ear. I feel his hands slide down to my ass cupping it in his hands. I begin to writhe against him, heat pooling to my core. I can feel his erection pressing against my ass. He unzips his pants and presses his length against my hot core teasing me. I moan out in frustration and then I gasp when he thrusts himself in. I can feel him pressing against my pleasure spot. As he thrusts harder and faster I feel my climax hit me. I scream out as he groans and grows rigid inside of me releasing his pleasure. Panting, he pulls out and gets dressed while I pull myself back together.

“Now tell me what you know about Eli’s mate.”

I still can’t believe Eli had announced me as his mate and Luna. I’ve been in a bit of a daze ever since. I went from accepting him choosing Eliza, to all of a sudden his whole pack knows about me. Most of his pack accepted me as their future Luna , because I am his chosen mate and respect the Moon Goddesses’ choice.

Then there are some that don’t accept me because I am a human. I know that it really hurts Eli that there are some in his pack that doesn’t accept me, but he’s still hopeful that they will eventually come to terms with it. One of the things I love most about him is how optimistic he is. I really surprised him when I showed up, and I was standing and walking on my own. I know he’s probably a bit upset that I kept it a secret but I really wanted to surprise him. Now that I am able to walk, I still need a little help now and again. He helps me back to my hospital room to be discharged.

“Are you ready to come home with me?”

“Are you saying your home is my home now?”

“Of course! That’s exactly what I’m saying. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

I smile at the sound of that. He walks over to me and puts his hands around my waist and gently pulls me to him. I wrap my arms around his neck, and he dips his head taking my lips into his. I slightly open my mouth to him to give him better access to my mouth and he takes it, his tongue entangled with mine. My brother walks into the doorway and clears his throat. Eli and I pull away. Eli turns to Pete with a smirk on his face, and I stand there, unable to stop myself from blushing, embarrassed from being caught by my brother.

“Ok you two. Save it for when you're back home!”

He grabs my bag and throws it over his shoulder.

“I’ve got the bags. You got my sister?”

“Yeah, I got her.” He says as he looks at me with adoration and love in his eyes, “We will meet you there.”

Pete takes off to the packhouse while Eli helps me out of the room. He ends up picking me up, bridal style, and I let out a squeal.

“What are you doing? Put me down. I can walk, you know.” I say smiling at him.

“Oh, I know! I’ve seen you! And you are going to tell me when that happened and when you were planning on telling me! You can start on our walk back home.”

I clear my throat, unsure of what to say, “ahem, well, it happened a few days ago. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on telling you. I wasn’t even planning on going to the announcement.”

“What made you change your mind?”

“I thought that you would choose Eliza. I mean, she was the more obvious choice to me. But then I realized that even if you chose her I would still want to be there to support you no matter what. Even if we could only be friends, I realized I didn’t want to lose you. So I decided to put my feelings aside and just be there for you.”

“Well you were obviously wrong. I could never choose Eliza over you; not in a million years! But I do appreciate you just being there for me, but I was planning on announcing you as my mate and Luna even if you weren’t there.”

“Really?” I looks down at me and smiles.

“Yes, really.” He kisses me on the lips then.

We make it home to the packhouse, and for the first time since I’ve been on pack grounds, I see everyone that lives at the packhouse waiting for me in the main room!

I look at Eli in shock and whisper, “Are they all here for me?” He nods his head smiling.

“They wanted to meet their future Luna.” He says as he sets me down.

Two guys approached us, both were really handsome and really big men. Eli introduced them.

“Christa, this is Ethan, my Beta, and Seth, my Gamma. Seth, Ethan, this is my mate, Christa.”

The one with Blonde hair and blue eyes, now known as Ethan, comes up to me and hugs me, which catches me by surprise. Then I hear a deep growl come from behind me, and Eli pulls me away, growling “mine” at Ethan. He steps back chucking with his hands up in surrender.

“It’s all good, dude, no harm, no foul.”

“Don’t push it, Ethan.” Eli growls.

Then Seth comes up and shakes my hand, “It’s nice to finally meet you. You are as gorgeous as Eli said. No wonder he kept you hidden from us.” He says, smirking at Eli. I can’t help but blush at the compliment; looking down to the floor, I say, “thank you.”

I continue to greet everyone in the pack house; everyone seems pretty nice, although I get some bitchy looks from some of the females in the house, which makes me feel uncomfortable. Eli takes notice, and he tells everyone that we are going to call it an early night and that we will see them for breakfast in the morning. We make our way upstairs. I take a huge sigh of relief to finally be out of the hospital and back with Eli in his home... Or should I say our home. I feel grateful for being back but at the same time I am really scared. I still haven’t told Eli about what his father said to me, and I’m not sure if I should. I know they already have a strained relationship, and I don’t want to make it worse. I guess I’m hoping his father will just accept me being with him. But I suppose that could just be a pipe dream. Pete is there waiting for us.

“So how did it go downstairs meeting everyone? You got here faster than I thought you would.”

“Yeah, Christa got a bit overwhelmed down there, so I cut it short. We will continue to meet everyone in the morning when Christa’s gotten some rest. Right sweetheart?” He says, bringing me against his side and squeezing me against him. I look up at him, and he gives me a sweet kiss on my lips.

“Yeah, it feels a little weird being kept a secret to all of a sudden everyone knows about me. It’s a lot to take in.”

“Well, I am glad you are not being kept a secret anymore. You deserve to have everyone know about you and Eli being mates! You both do!”

“Thanks, bro.” Eli takes Pete’s arm and brings him in for a brotherly hug. I lift my eyebrows in surprise.

“Bro? When did this happen?” Eli chuckles and the sound makes my skin tingle and heat shoot straight to my core.

“We got pretty close after your accident. Plus, we’re family now, seeing as to how you're my mate!” Eli says with a sexy smirk on his face. I yawn, unable to help myself.

“Welp, it looks like I need to get my mate into bed.” Eli says, making me blush. Pete just smirks knowing how easy it is to embarrass me. He walks over and embarrasses me in a bear hug and kisses me on my forehead.

“Goodnight, Lil nugget. You take care of my girl will you?”

“You got it! You have my word.” I roll my eyes and smile as they do their bro hug thing again. After Pete leaves, I make my way to the bedroom, exhausted from the evening's activities. I put on my pajamas and make my way into bed. After Eli has the house all locked up he joins me.

“Well, that was an eventful day!”

“Mmmhmm.” I say sleepily.

“Are you happy with the way things turned out?” I nodded and looked into his eyes.

“When you were on that stage, I realized something.”

“And what’s that?” He asks as he ticks my hair behind my ear and kisses my nose.

“When I saw Eliza up on that stage with you with her smug look, I realized that you deserve someone who will love you for you and support you no matter what. And that person wasn’t Eliza. She was up there for all the wrong reasons. I thought I was too late. That I realized that I was who you needed up there with you and not her, and it was too late to stop it. I almost lost you.”

He chuckles and kisses me gently on my lips, “you didn’t almost lose me. You never even came close; I had my mind made up since the moment I laid my eyes on you!”

“Really?”

“Yes. Now go to sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow. There’s a lot of people who want to meet you.”

“When we were downstairs, some of the girls were giving me dirty looks. It made me really uncomfortable.”

“I know. I’ll have a chat with them tomorrow, love, ok?”

“Ok, thank you. Goodnight. I love you.”

I feel Eli smile against my neck as we cuddle, “Goodnight, my love. I love you so much!” He says as he gives me a kiss goodnight.

I fall asleep, but that night, I have the worst nightmare of my life. I had a dream that Eli and I were out having a picnic, and it had started so wonderful, but Eli’s father showed up, demanding Eli to reject me as his mate. When Eli denied him again, he charged me to make right on his promise; he made me in my hospital room. Eli went to stop him, but instead, the knife that was meant for me went straight through Eli’s heart. He had killed him in front of me, and with a murderous look in his eyes, he said, “look what you made me do! Now I’m going to have to pin Eli’s murder on you!” I shake my head, crying out, holding Eli’s lifeless body in my arms.

I wake up in a cold sweat screaming out. Eli wakes up, holding me, comforting me.

“Sshh, it’s ok, it’s ok, it was just a nightmare, baby. Are you ok?”

I silently shake my head, tears leaking from my eyes. Eli brushes my hair from out of my face.

“It’s ok, I’m here with you, it’s ok.” Eli helps me lie back down, continuing to comfort me.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Once again I just shake my head.

“No.” I manage to croak out.

“Ok, it’s ok then. Go back to sleep baby, ok.”

I nod my head, “ok.”

I slowly fall into a dreamless sleep.
