Heather 26 A glorious week of secret planning and packing passed. She refilled her pain medication prescription and her antidepressants. She hid her packed carry-on under the bed. Heather felt stronger and more sure of herself than she had for twenty years. She and Jill would have the time of their lives and the euphoria from the vacation would carry Heather through the not-so-great days after that. But there she stopped. No use thinking about the chemo now. Scotland first. Thank goodness that Jill still had a passport from a Habitat for Humanity stint in Panama she did three years ago.
