Heather 56 Heather rallied the next day. She took all her supplements and downed the smoothie without so much as a cringe. She felt empowered in the knowledge that she was actually contributing to the outcome of her health. If she stayed positive, if she emotionally contributed to the “cause,” making it easier on Kyle and her mama, and if she rested for whole days in between sightseeing days, rather than for only the couple of hours she wanted, then she could feel herself healing. She could beat this cancer. She was killing it already, and while sometimes she felt like she was fading fast, if she kept her perspective, she could see that it was just the effects of the chemotherapy. And if resting was the best thing for her right now, then she would rest with a vengeance. Heather smiled
