23 I glanced nervously at my father and brother as we waited outside President Nambawa’s office. Mark also seemed a little anxious; my father on the other hand was totally calm. At precisely three o’ clock the huge double doors opened and an aide indicated that we may enter. The room was large and well appointed. President Nambawa strode forward to shake our hands as we introduced ourselves. I knew from my research that he would be turning sixty-four in a couple of weeks although he looked much younger. He was a large man with a regal presence and when he spoke his English was flawless. “Welcome to Uganda.” He said in a deep baritone. “General Wamala; my Defence Minister, and Mister Lutaaya; my Aide de Camp, will be joining us for this meeting.” He indicated the other two men present
