56 Byaitaka Wakinona woke instantly, confusion clouding his sleep-befuddled brain. He was in charge of the four men tasked with guarding the American. Technically, two of them were to remain awake while the other two slept. However, with forty men between them and the only entrance, they totally ignored the standing order. Next to him the other three guards were stirring, and he realized with horror that the gunfire he’d heard wasn’t just in his dreams.
