Brad and Danni’s pursuers made the crucial mistake of being to eager. The two trucks were traveling too fast through the darkness for them to notice the telltale signs where Brad and Danni had leapt to freedom. Consequently, it was only on their return journey that they eventually spotted the marks in the soft sand. By that time the sun had risen and the signs were clearly visible.
