Chapter- Twenty Three
“Your sister liked him enough to try and save his life” Augustus recalls, “Who killed him?” he asks her then, nonchalant as always. Astrid thinks about the question, thinks about what Josephine said and most importantly about how Augustus reads her from head to toe with a touch on her pulse on a tilted eyebrow.
“I did”…
Augustus simply raises an eyebrow at her, not even bothering to get off her lap. He looks amused, his lips tilting but no hint of apprehension or fear that it pisses Astrid of. The very sight of her restraints had both humans and wolves backing off and looking at her with suspicion, and now here she was admitting to killing a werewolf to an alpha and he was smiling at her like she merely just commented on the weather as he continued to relax on her
