Prologue
Some years ago.
The lighting splits the sky in a fierce bright light while a showering of rage fell down on their heads. The thunder. Like a wild animal stalking its prey crept closer rolling angrily over the forest depth.
In the depth of the rattling trees ,filled with fright stricken critters, was a small wooden house looking ready to be blown off of its stand. Inside it leaked with frozen waters creating a vast chill in the air.
Inside the poorly built house was only two people. Outcasts from the poor state they were living in. A rather medium built woman aside a small figure of a little boy. Both laying on an old mattress with eyes solely focus on an object in hand of the woman.
She read, her voice smooth, clear and soft.
"He had built the crown using the heart of which was carved from the giant's chest, molded beautifully, it was what gave the humans rule over the giant. The giants had attack the villages taking animals, to feast on their flesh and crushing the humans that fell at their ginormous feet. The giants were soon to be moving to other kingdoms but that could not happen. The heart was carved out of the giant's chest by a man, he built the crown. All giants kneeled before the small man compared to the size of themselves. The man, given the command to the giants to return to their own domain where they could reign down disaster on other unknown beings, he was to be crowned as king and the kingdom was restored. Everyone lived in peace with the rule of the new king. The End."
The female closed the book softly and turned look at the boy who was supposed to already be asleep, however his eyes were wide and his expression scrunched into one of deep thought.
"Mum are giants real?". His small voice could barely be heard over the thunder and the harsh winds in the snowstorm.
She shifted her body to face the pale boy beside of her. "Who knows if they exist, no one has ever seen a giant before, but maybe one day we will seeing as our world is of the unknown". She answered.
"Mum when will pa be back?". She sighed.
"He will be hear soon, my chijo, do not worry about your papia. Now go to sleep you will start your training early morning".
"Yes, maihl". The boy wanted to stay awake longer and wait on his papia, he had been gone for long, how long he did not know but his papia will return he always do. The boy fell asleep with dreams of giants and he the slayer of them.
His mum kissed him on his forehead rising and leaving him on the mattress doubt clouding her thoughts of her husband if he would return as always or die in the snowstorm.
Her son needed him and so did she.
