The Alpha's Betrayal
"Oh, my Alpha... what you're doing feels so good." "Ah... my love, you feel just as good..." I heard those breathless words from behind the wall. Tonight, I had prepared so much to celebrate my wedding anniversary with Maxim—the Alpha King of the Blue-Eyed White Wolf clan. The Moon Goddess had destined us for each other two years ago, and ever since, I had devoted myself entirely to him. I moved silently, like a shadow dark suspicions were already filling my mind. I peeked through the gap in the open door, and sure enough... I saw Ellena Smits straddling my husband's beautiful body. The mighty Alpha—dubbed the God of War was being ridden by my own adopted sister. She was the young woman I had saved seven years ago when she was critically injured after being attacked by a rogue pack. I had helped her, taken her in, and made her my sister. But today? She was stealing what was rightfully mine. Tears welled up in my eyes, and my body began to tremble. She moved with practiced skill, clearly relishing my husband's virility there was no trace of awkwardness between them in their intimacy. "Oh baby... yeah... this feels so good." Ellena chuckled softly, pausing the act she was leading. She gazed warmly into my husband's eyes and asked, "Tell me, Maxim... were you thinking of her while you were with me?" The man chuckled, squeezing her waist. "No, my love. I actually imagine you even when I'm with Yura; I can't stand the sight of her face not even for a second. She was just a pawn to use when I couldn't make love to you. Even this lingerie—the one that carries your signature scent—I made her wear it when she was with me..." Ellena gave a faint smile. “Then why? Why did you marry her?” “I need her divinity,” Maxim replied coldly. “It will be offered to the Wolf King of Darkness. The day I present that woman to him is the day I become stronger... unstoppable.” The moment I heard those words, I instinctively covered my mouth to suppress the cry threatening to escape. Tears streamed down my face without warning. I staggered back a few steps. My joints felt weak, yet I forced myself to remain standing. I swallowed the sobs that desperately wanted to break free. Then I walked away from the room. The wolf inside me erupted in fury, and I sprinted deep into the forest. A long, agonizing howl shattered the silence of the night. Resting birds burst from their nests, hundreds of wings beating wildly as they fled, sensing the danger of my presence. My body collapsed onto the ground as despair, betrayal, and heartbreak merged into one unbearable pain. I had given everything to Maxim. A loyalty beyond measure. I had even rejected the love of the Black Wolf King, Robert Blackwood, a man hopelessly obsessed with me. He had defied both the Supreme Ruler and the Moon Goddess because he refused to accept that I had been destined to become Maxim's mate. I had allowed him to be cursed... Allowed him to be imprisoned in the Forbidden Forest. Two years had already passed. Regret slowly began devouring my soul. “Robert...” I whispered through tear-filled eyes I leaped onto a distant hill and released another long, mournful howl— A declaration that a new war had just begun. --- The heart of the Forbidden Forest was still far away. Even finding it was nearly impossible. The sky had turned pitch-black beneath thick storm clouds. A gentle drizzle began to fall, while flashes of lightning illuminated the distant horizon. A violent storm was quickly approaching. I relied on my wolf's senses, searching for Robert's scent through the dense undergrowth. Nothing. No werewolf scent. Even after venturing deep into the Forbidden Forest, I still couldn't find him. Where else could he possibly be? I shifted back into my human form and carefully followed a path that looked as though no one had walked it before. My eyes searched every towering tree and every twisting root. Then.. Behind the bushes directly behind me... I sensed movement. Footsteps. Shipers. I spun around instinctively, but I didn't have time to react. A wild Shiper slammed into me, pinning me to the ground. I bared my fangs, my crimson eyes blazing with fury as I struggled to throw the creature off But there wasn't just one. Hundreds of glowing yellow eyes surrounded me in the darkness. I was trapped With no other choice, I fled deeper into the forest as the rain poured even harde I fought off every Shiper that lunged at me, slashing them aside one after another. Their claws ripped through my skin, leaving deep wounds across my body. But I couldn't stop. I had to survive. Ahead of me, I spotted a steep hill beyond their reach. Gathering every ounce of strength I had left, I leaped onto its summit, leaving the Shipers behind. The moment I landed, my body collapsed My injuries had become too severe. “Argh...” I groaned, pressing my hands against the bleeding claw marks across my body. Then.. I forgot about the pain. Before me stood the enormous roots of an ancient tree, twisted together to form what looked like a gateway to another world. I knew immediately. This was the place. “A prison within the Forbidden Forest...” I murmured. “This is it.” But I also understood one thing. The gate wouldn't open so easily. I had to sacrifice my divinity. As a werewolf who had lived with my pack for so many years, giving up my divine power meant abandoning my wolf forever and living as nothing more than a human. And I wasn't even sure.. Would Robert still accept me if I became an ordinary human? Then another memory flashed through my mind— Robert being tortured by Maxim's pack. The guilt returned with overwhelming force. I had to do this. I owed him that much. None of this was fair to Robert Blackwood. He was the Alpha of the Black Wolves, a fearless leader with striking brown eyes, deeply respected and admired by his pack. Whether he accepted me afterward or not... That was no longer my concern. I released my divine power and offered it to the Moon Goddess. The portal slowly opened. I stepped inside. There he was. Robert hung from massive steel chains, his powerful body covered in wounds I rushed toward him and wrapped my arms around him. “Robert...” I whispered, searching his exhausted eyes. His breathing was ragged as he slowly forced his eyes open. “Yura...?” His voice was filled with disbelief. For two years, this prison had held him captive. Yet he still spoke my name so gently. “Robert... please forgive me. I'm so sorry.” He slowly lifted his head, as if my voice alone had given him the strength to move. “Isn't it too late?” he asked bitterly. “You already married him.” “Please forgive me... I never knew Maxim's true intentions. I believe you're the only one who can protect me, Robert.” I cried as I gently caressed his handsome face. His black hair... His warm brown eyes... Such a brave and honorable man. And I had thrown him away. I pressed my lips against his. Little by little, strength returned to his body. The heavy chains shattered and crashed to the ground. But Robert collapsed once again. Two years of torture had drained nearly all of his wolf's strength. “Robert, you're far too weak,” I said, helping him sit up. “We can't return to the werewolf pack. I gave up my wolf to save you. We have no choice but to escape to the human world. Once Maxim discovers I've freed you... neither of us will survive.” Still too weak to speak, Robert Blackwood simply nodded. Beneath the relentless rain, we walked out of the Forbidden Forest together, searching for the nearest human settlement.
