Part Two

The next day, no class took place because a farewell was said to be held for a teacher. I had no plans to go, same goes with Brenda and Nat. But it was announced that all the students are required to go. So I did nothing but attend. As expected, almost all of the students are already on the court. Others were carrying banners. It's been news since yesterday that the band The Breakers will perform. Most of the students here, especially girls are waving their banners, with their lipsticks on, then color coding clothes with the others. I guess what's happening is not exactly a farewell. But a mini concert by The Breakers. "I'll see them perform again!" Natalie screamed "I'm so excited for this! I even got lack of sleep because I've been preparing for this day to come!" Brenda added. It's obvious that they really prepared because their outfit even surpassed the attire of girls working at the bar. Earlier, I told them that they were wearing too short a dress, but they just ignored Believing that it's better than wearing a school uniform. Is it necessary to wear short dresses, when they meet The Breakers. Like duh? It's just an intermission number They're not performing to promote their band. Everyone here in the court are all excited. I could say they're more happy to see the band rather than a terror teacher living this school. Almost everyone here can't wait for The Breakers to come out. We were sitting in the middle of these bleachers. Away from as is where you can see asmall stage in the middle. I thought before that the concert was really going to happen, but I remembered that this is a farewell program. The weird thing is the concept of the stage that was put in the middle of the court. I was about to asked Brianna and Natalie because of the weird set up of the stage. When I accidentally heard a conversation of two women we were following earlier while we're going in here. "Why is the stage in the center? Wasn't that there before?" Asked the woman in the black skirt. I was embarrassed to wear a maroon uniform. "It's really intentional," said the girl with a short hair. "Its as common when the stage is at the top as before. So the council decided to put it in the middle, for someone else. Besides, don't you want The Breakers to be the center of attraction?" The one with her added and cried because of what she said. I really want to slap their faces and tell them that this is a freaking farewell party! Not a concert. A few minutes later, two students climbed on the stage. As far as I know the one is the Vice President of the student council and the other is their secretary. When they approached a rostrum another student immediately handed over their mics from below. The crowd became wilder. They obviously can't wait to call the name of the band. They're looking forward to... Which I'm also looking forward to see. I'm just curious about them. "Good morning. Everyone!" The male emcee. Which is the Vice president, said enthusiastically. "Seems like everyone is so excited for the farewell party?" Everyone laughed "Or maybe they're just excited to see The Breakers?" Everyone nodded again. Others girls near us, screamed at the top of their lungs as if there's no tomorrow. I saw the vice President whisper something to his fellow emcee. After whispering he smirked and nodded before speaking again into the microphone. "Are you all excited?!" Shout of the female emcee. Everyone shouted. Even my two companions were like worms that had been salted because of the excessive shaking. The two emcees looked at each other before speaking again. "EVERYONE THE BREAKERS WITH THEIR INTERMISSION NUMBER!" I was almost deaf to the shouts and screams of the students here inside the court. They are all waving their banners, faces and mouths are in 'O'. Some were crying, others seemed to be fainting with joy and excitement. I stared at my best friends. Nat was speechless, as if she had seen something, she didn't want to lose in her sight. Brenda was trying her best not to scream because of excitement. Both her and Natalie were unable to move in their places when the band went up on stage. I was busy, watching everyone's faces. When I heard a voice from the center of the court, making all of the students shuts their mouths. "Hi everyone..." I turned to the man who owned the voice. The crowd went more wilder, screams became louder, I can even hear some of them screaming their names. But my eyes were glued on the guy holding the mic stand. I just stared at his gentle face. Her smile gives more color to his eyes. There’s something in his smile, that you always want to see. Is he that warm? Is he that friendly and happy? Why is he even more handsome because of his smile? He's not singing yet, but the students inside this court are restless in their seats. "That's The Breakers." I turned to Nat who was hugging me. "And that's Zachary, the handsome drummer." She even added and giggled I saw the man facing a drum set, which she called Zach. Like Maru, who's smiling while facing everyone. He also had a smile on his lips as he played the drumsticks in his hands. I heard Natalie's accented voice. "H-he's the reason they were formed." She stated. I remained my eyes on the guy named Zach. Unlike before, the students are relatively calm. But others are still shouting. I noticed Maru turn behind. There was something he said to them, and just a few minutes later the band started playing. It's a familiar song that makes the crowd sing along with them. The moment he started to sing the lyrics of the song. I stared and him. With the kind of singing he seems to be rocking in a way too soft and calm. And whoever is listening will surely fall on their seats and instead of screaming at the top of their lungs, they would rather listen not to missed every single lyrics of the song. I smiled after hearing how the students sing along with him. Some of them are swaying their hands in the air as they still continue to sing along. Some students are also waving their banners. The others remained silent while listening to the song. It was as if they had their own world while Maru was singing. The last line of the song made everyone in the court clap their hands. Scream the name of the band. All I can hear was each of the students here are screaming each name of the band members. "We love you you Maru!" "I love you Zachary!" "I'll just do your piano, Angelo!!" "Edward! Teach me how to play guitar!" By the way, they scream their names with their assigned instruments. It was not difficult for me to identify them. Maru is the vocalist of the band. Zachary or Zach is the drummer, the man with his piano is Angelo. And the last one is the man holding the guitar, which they call Edward. "Pfft. They're dreaming, right?" I heard Brenda scoffed. I nodded too. They're really good. They are like a professional band, because of the performance. "Thank you guys.... Again. We're The Breakers." Maru was smiling widely as he thanked everyone inside this huge four corners of the room. Causing everyone to shout again. So, this is The Breakers? The band who's almost everyone knows and crazy with. And the band, I failed to know that exist here on campus. I saw Maru went down with his bands. Still with their smile on their faces. Next up were the two emcees. "Wow, that performance was spectacular!" The male emcee said in amazement. They had something else to say before the farewell started. I can even hear other students growls. After all, if The Breakers didn’t perform. There'll be no or only few students are expected to come here at the farewell. Later on, the program started with a thanksgiving song. Followed by a messages from the co teachers and the giving of plaque and flowers. It indeed a farewell. But to some point, for any other students in here..They only came for The Breakers, and not to say goodbye to a retiring teacher.
