"Did you hear that?" Asked Jolie feeling concerned as well.
"Yeah, I did. One of the voices sound a bit familiar to me." Jessica replied. "I think we should go check out who they are." She suggested.
They got up and walked towards the direction of the voices disappearing in a distance. They saw the backs of the ladies, of which one of them was Henrietta's. They looked at each other surprisingly.
"That is Henrietta and her friends." Jolie screamed.
"Absolutely! I thought as much. And who are they speaking ill of?" Jessica said.
"No idea."
"I think she acts more like a child for not approaching whoever that offended her this much, that she wants to retaliate in that manner."
"Let us go back for our next lecture." The both of them left the school's garden.
'Does it mean that Henrietta is intolerant or that something is wrong with her?' Jessica asked herself.
They both went to the lecture room to get prepared for the next lecture which was Business Law.
They returned just on time for the next lecture, they were so prepared and waited for the lecturer to arrive, but Jessica was still contemplating on the encounter she had with Henrietta and her grudging attitude.
"Good day to you, Mr. Francis." The students greeted as the lecturer came in.
"Good day to you all." He replied.
The lecturer asked them some questions on the previous topics they had done which they did their best to answer and he continued his lectures.
"In business, there is an agreement between two or more parties. First of all is a promise or commitment that something will or will not happen in the future. Business law helps you for security reasons, for example..."
During the lectures, Jessica concentrated less and was lost in a deep thought about the day's scenario. From her unexpected meeting with Maxwell at the secretary's office to bumping into Henrietta and the intimidating look she gave her while she was apologizing to her to the threats she overheard from Henrietta and her friends at the school's garden.
'Is it that Maxwell and Henrietta are together? Because for her to hate me so much that she could not listen to my apologies and the pathway from which she came out could simply lead to the secretary's office. Is there something that I am ignorant of?' She asked herself and continued: 'I just hope that Maxwell is honest with me.' She encouraged herself.
When the lecture was over, the students gradually left. Jessica and Jolie headed towards the direction of the school's library. On their way, Jolie broke the ice.
"What is actually wrong with you?" She asked.
"Why, what do you mean?" Jessica asked confused.
"You have been acting a bit awkward today. You seem not to be the same Jessica I used to know."
"Oh, I am fine. Don't worry so much about me. It is nothing. Okay?" Jessica assured her.
"You know that you can always confide in me about anything that troubles you."
"Of course. I know." They hugged each other warmly and later continued their walk to the library. The library was less crowdy. They spotted a comfortable space and went there.
"Hey girls!!!" They looked up at the direction of the female voice that greeted.
"Who do we have here!!" Jessica screamed as Florence she walked in with her twin brother, Fredrick.
"It has been quite a while now that we have seen each other. Where have you both been?" Jessica asked being so enthusiastic to see her friends after a few months, that she hugged them tightly.
"What brings you guys here? I was wondering you decided to be distant." Jolie said hugging them tightly as well.
"The activities we had to achieve could not simply spare us. In fact, we never expected that we could get the opportunity to meet this soon." Florence explained.
"When we came, we were about to ask after you guys, when we saw you walking down to this place. So we decided not to stop you, but to know where you were heading to." Frederick told them with a glee on his face.
The four of them were very good friends right from childhood. She and Jolie went further for the same course while Florence went international relations and Fredrick went for engineering. Due to respect, they all went to the school's garden and had a long chat on their respective experiences about university. When it was time for the next lecture Jessica and Jolie went back to the lecture room, while the twins stayed behind, because they all decided to hang out at one of the famous clubs in town once the lecture was over.
The Auditing lecturer came in at her assigned time and started her lectures.
"Why are Audit's important?" Mrs. Roberts asked.
"An audit is important, because it provides credibility to a set of financial statements and gives the shareholders confidence that the accounts are true and fair. It can also help to improve a company's internal controls and systems." One of the students answered confidently.
The auditing course was quite interesting for Jessica and she participated very well during the lectures. When they were through with the lectures they have for the day, they went to the school's garden to pick the twins for their outing. They were so excited and cracked some jokes as they went to the school's parking lot. They all entered Jessica's car and she drove off to their destination.
"How is Maxwell? I guess you guys are still getting along." Florence asked Jessica.
"Yes, we are." Jessica replied with a smile.
"Are you guys still planning to get married?"
"Hmm, yeah we are. It is just that..." Jessica paused for a while to think if it would be a good idea to tell her friends about her parents plans for her to get married to George.
"It is just that what?" Florence got more curious.
Jessica decided that it was alright to tell them, they are friends afterall, telling them will help to relieve her from thinking so much about the situation and they might find a way out to solve her problems.
"It is just that mom and dad suggest that I get married to George. I tried to explain to them how much Maxwell and I love and care for each other, but they insisted that I should move on with George, all because he is the heir of his father's throne. But who cares, as a young woman I always wished to get married to the right person that would love me and I love him as well." She told them almost shedding tears.
"Is that why you were not concentrating properly during lectures?" Jolie asked trying to console her.
"Yeah, and also the unfriendly encounter I had with Henrietta earlier today." She confirmed.
"You mean Henrietta Lawrence?" Frederick asked surprisingly.
"Yeah, is that her surname? I have heard about the family when I was younger, but did not get the chance to know much about them." She said overwhelmingly.
"Yes, that is her surname. You know, I wanted to tell you that her father is a prominent man, before we got by the lecturer's entrance." Jolie explained and continued: "Her father is a judge which makes her feel like looking down on people."
"That is so bad of her, besides all I pray is to not cross path with her again."
"Come on! Don't say that! If she feels that you are scared of her, she will use it pretty well to intimidate you." Florence cheered her up.
"No Florence, don't tell me that. You know me quite well that I don't tolerate humiliation of any kind. I really want to avoid her in any way possible. I don't want anything or anyone like her to distract my focus on accomplishing my goals."
"So Florence, tell me about your relationship with Hillary."
"We are good together. We hope to get married soon. Jolie, how about you, have you got someone or are you searching?"
