Humiliated
ELEANOR'S POV
The society discriminates those who are different.
It was the one truth I had come to know as intimately as my own scars.
Six years.
It was now six brutal years since my parents were killed, and the Silver Wolf Pack captured me. My father had been a traitor, a crime for which my human mother and I paid the price because I was half breed. When Alpha Marcus, Alexander's father ordered their execution, they should have killed me too.
Instead, they decided I would be useful. A lesson to others. A permanent reminder of what happened to those who loved humans.
I was almost eighteen now, no longer the scared little half-breed girl they'd first broken. But some habits refuse to die, even when hope has.
I was still a living insult to everything the pack stood for.
The mere fact that when I grew up, I became fat worsened everything. In a pack that valued strength, speed, and lean power, my curves marked me as even more pathetic. Another flaw and another reason to torment me.
Besides the mockery about my weight, I still had to go and do my chores.
With a heavy sigh, I pushed off the wall and slipped out of the shed before anyone came looking for me. The moment I stepped into the open and my eyes fall on some werewolves, the familiar knot of dread tightened in my gut. I just knew it already that they were going to start mocking me.
I tried to ignore them, kept my head down and tried to walk faster. Maybe if I moved quickly enough, they wouldn't notice me. But luck had never been on my side.
The first whistle came from behind me and I instantly knew what the hell was going to happen to me.
"Oi piggy, is that how fast you can go",
Gamma John's voice made my steps falter. Before I could answer, a hard shove sent me sprawling face first onto the floor and laughter erupted from the group of warriors nearby.
"Start crawling like a pig you are," one of them sneered and a boot pressed between my shoulder blades, grinding me deeper into the filth.
"Please stop, I have to go and do my chores right now," I bit back the cry of pain as another kick landed against my already bruised ribs. "Right now?" Gamma John cut me off coldly. "You know it that we are preparing for the coming of the Luna, and here you are, waddling around like some lazy sow who can't be bothered. You're so f*****g lazy, piggy."
Before I could reply, he tilted the cup in his hand and carelessly poured the drink onto the ground right in front of my face, the ale splashing into the dirt and forming a sticky, muddy puddle inches from my nose.
"Clean it up right now, fatso," He ordered, his tone cold and commanding. "Lap it up fatso, stick that snout in there and drink every last drop." He added and the group howled with laughter, crowding closer.
"Yeah, that's it! Pigs love rolling in the dirt, don't they?" one warrior jeered, poking my side with his boot.
I stopped, staring at the mess. Something inside me cracked, and for once I kept my eyes down but didn't move. I was really done with their disrespect.
"I said clean it up right now with your mouth."
His boot suddenly connected with my face so fast I didn't see it coming. Pain exploded across my nose and cheek. I staggered back, tasting blood instantly. Warm liquid poured down over my lips and chin because my nose was bleeding heavily now.
Laughter erupted all around me again as they watched me cup my hands under my nose, trying to stop the flow.
"Look at her! The fat human is bleeding!" someone shouted.
"Aw, what's wrong, piggy? Can't handle a little tap? You're supposed to be cleaning up that mess with your fat snout, not making more of one." Gamma John spoke laughing.
Rage boiled up inside me when he said that, hot and blinding. I was tired of the kicks, the claws, and the humiliation. For a second, I didn't care that I was fat. I balled my bloody fists and started to rise, ready to lunge at John even if it was going to get me killed.
"Say it again," I growled.
"Your blood..."
The moment he said it, I lost it. I spun before I could think, hauled at his wrist, and shoved him with everything I had left. It wasn't graceful or powerful, but it was enough. Enough to break his hold and enough to surprise him.
He stumbled back a step, and everything went dead silent immediately. Every laugh cut off at once, and all stared with shock on their faces. I had just pushed the Gamma. He straightened up instantly with a snarl.
"You ugly pig," he spat, lunging, but I didn't flinch.
A hot, wild thing rose in my chest, a fierce drum in my veins that no longer cared about consequences. For the first time in a long time, I didn't shrink. I sidestepped his grab and shoved him harder, sending him sprawling onto the floor with all my weight.
Gasps ripped through the hall again. "You're dead," he growled, scrambling to his feet. "I'll have you whipped for this. I'll make sure..."
"I am not as weak as you think." A low, dangerous growl rumbled in my throat, cutting him short mid-sentence.
"Alpha Alexander is going to kill you this time," he whimpered. He actually whimpered.
I forced a bitter twist of a smile. "Do you think I give a damn about him?" The words rang hollow. I did care, of course. I feared Alpha Alexander. I would have given anything to be invisible to him. But now, I could not let him see weakness.
I was really unlucky, because out of the blue, a voice cut across everything, cold and authoritative.
"Are you talking about me?" His voice made me instantly freeze. I was seriously dead.
"I... I..." My blood ran cold.
What was he even doing here?
I slowly turned, my heart pounding so loudly it drowned out the distant murmurs and gasps from the pack. But the moment my eyes met with his ocean blue eyes, the world seemed to still. My heart stuttered in my chest.
And then...
The word mate echoed through my mind, foreign yet somehow familiar, as if it had always been there, buried under the layers of my existence. My wolf, who had been silent since I shifted, roared to life inside me. It was like a spark ignited in the deepest recesses of my soul, a deep connection that made my skin flush and my heart race.
I blinked rapidly, the realization hitting me.
No. No, it couldn't be true. Not him. The son of my parents killer?. Besides that I already knew it that he won't accept a fatso like me.
Alpha Alexander's eyes narrowed, watching me carefully, the tension between us thickening with every passing second. I could feel my body trembling, my breath shallow and erratic as the bond tugged at me, desperate for connection.
His lips twisted into a cruel smirk, his gaze scanning me with a coldness that sent a chill down my spine.
"No. You can't be my mate." His voice was low, but the finality of it hit me like a slap. "Get her out of my sight right now." He turned to his warriors and ordered rudely.
