Ragnar’s eyes locked on mine, a smirk curling his lips, sharp and dangerous. “You’re mine, Aurora,” he said, his voice low and certain, laced with a promise I refused to understand. “Destiny says so.” “I’ll kill you first,” I hissed, hate boiling in my veins, hot and thick. “You’ll regret this.” He laughed, a deep, chilling sound that echoed off the stone. “We’ll see, little rogue.” …In a world claimed by the Lycan after the war. Aurora is a rogue with a blade and a vow: survive at all costs. But when her will falls to Ragnar, the ruthless Lycan King, her fight becomes a cage. Marked by a prophecy she never chose, she’s bound to him as his destined mate… his queen, his prisoner, his obsession. With every drop of blood sealing their bond, Aurora plots her revenge, swearing to bury him in the ashes of his own kingdom.

Hell…
1859, after the War. Agregro, a secret human hideout… AURORA ^*^ Death is often said to be silent. A dark, ominous figure, floating around in the quiet, snatching up people when they least expected it... Ours? It was loud, terrifyingly loud and evil. It wasn’t unexpected either. We knew it was coming, we could feel it, several minutes before they raided. The horrific screams raided the atmosphere, piercing the night air. The loud screams of mothers calling for their children, of the men yelling for us to get into the secret passage of escape. Although It was expected, it came too soon… we had allowed our guard down. I could hear the loud chaos of people falling over others outside, falling in an attempt to hide themselves from the shadows of the darkness that came with death, whose presence had just been announced. I gripped the covers on my face even tighter. I was refusing to believe that they were here, that we’ve been caught. I was panting, shutting my eyes tighter as though it could make the terrifying sound go away. I could hear them, I could already hear the screams of my people outside. I could hear flesh tearing apart. For months, we’ve been on hideout from the Lycan King and his people. We were almost the last living human race on earth. We had refused to live under their code of conduct and we’ve been labeled as rogues. For months, we’ve been training, learning, hiding, and running from them. And now, they were here… at our doorstep. Death… It wasn’t long before I scrambled out of the hard rocky woods I called my bed, my head racing in confusion as I searched for my dagger, the one I had always carried along with me for protection. I could feel it, I could sense death… and I needed to be ready… "Aurora!!" A rough hand grabbed me before I could respond, shoving me up to stare into the eyes of my mom, "Run!" She said shoving me ahead, "Go with them, go now!" "Where?!" I could hardly recognize my own voice, “What’s going on mom?” My scratchy voice asked in fear. I knew what was going on, but I needed to hear from her. I needed her to say it wasn’t true, because we weren’t ready, we weren’t ready to fight for our freedoms now. "The secret passage, right ahead! Quick, they will be here any moment!" She screamed and when I opened my mouth to ask again, the door slammed open and a hefty man stormed in. Eyes red as the red moon, body hefty like wood, hand gripping on the axe so hard that I could see his veins. They were here. They really were here… death. My mom immediately turned, hiding me away from the vision of the man, “You will not have her!” She screamed at the top of her voice, pointing her weak looking dagger to him. My eyes searched the room fast to locate my own dagger sitting beside the window stand and as the man approached my mother, I dashed towards the window to grab my dagger. I would fight with my family till the very death. I grabbed the dagger and turned as my mother’s piercing scream filled the room. The man was holding her neck so hard that I could see her gasping for breath. “Such f*****g weakling!” He growled and laughed. I screamed and charged to him, succeeding in pushing my dagger into his other hand, making him release my mom and staggering backward. “You b***h!” He growled and charged at me but my mom pushed him and grabbed a wood from the ground to hit him with it. The man fell immediately. “Mom, what’s going on?” I asked in tears, rushing to her. Mom cupped my face with her palm, looking straight into my eyes, “Listen to me, Aurora. They came, they came when we least expected. And we’ve been raided so bad, we have nothing left.” “What do you mean? We’ve been training months for this!” I broke out, holding her arms in mine. “The Lycans are stronger than we knew. Now, listen. You have to go to the secret hideout. Some of us are waiting there. Go now and stay safe. Don’t come out until you hear the bell of peace rings. Okay?” “What about Dad? Where are the rest people?” “Love, look at me. It’s every strong man for himself now. And I can’t protect you if you’re here with me, you have to go. It’ll be over soon and I promise you I’ll come to you. Okay?” I broke down crying again. “Mom, you have to come with me. Let’s go together!” I didn’t even finish my words when my mom’s eyes bulged out, she began gasping for air, the look of terror was evident on her face. I looked towards her chest and the sight I saw frightened me. The dreaded sight. My mom’s chest was ripped open from behind and her still beating bloody heart was poking out as the man held it. Behind her, I saw him. The man from before. He had gurgled her heart out from behind. "Aurora,” Mom whispered, making me bring my wide gaze to her face, “Run!” Immediately, I took off. Rushing out of the room into the open. My eyes roamed the chaos before me. Everything was burning, everything was scattered. Bodies were everywhere. Dead bodies. My mom was killed. Mom was killed. Mom’s heart was freaking gurgled out of her. I sobbed, holding my dagger tighter and moving around the bodies. We had been here for three months now. We were so certain they wouldn’t find us here. How did they know we were here? I tried searching for anybody I knew but they all seemed to be among the dead bodies. I began moving around further into the town, trying to dodge attacks and burning bodies. Suddenly, my eyes found someone, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. He was staring at me, right through my soul. His red eyes shined from where he stood. A human was in his hand, a headless human. It was evident that he was feeding from it. My parents always told me this; ‘When you see death, and it stares at you right in the face, run. Run because there’s nothing you can do except to fight for your remaining life.’ And here was death, piercing my blue eyes with it’s red ones. I tried getting a clear look of him and when I did, I gasped, taking steps back. It was him, it was their king. It was the Lycan King. “You!” He growled, pointing at me. And that was my cue to move… and I did. I ran. I freaking ran.
