A gold rat!
Alex couldn’t believe his good luck. The first prey he spotted was a first-level demonic beast.
I can barely deal with a second-level demonic beast, not to mention slay it. But I’m confident I can kill a gold rat!
Alex hid behind a patch of grass and watched the small mouse from a short distance. He held his breath to stay completely hidden.
Demonic beasts were extremely sensitive to their surroundings. The slightest movement could attract their attention and alert them. This was especially true for the weak ones that had to stay vigilant to survive in a brutal forest.
A gold rat was an ordinary first-level beast that lived at the bottom of the food chain. The timid creature was extremely fast, so the slightest movement would make it flee.
